5 Pokemon GO much-requested features that still doesn’t exist in 2024

1) A trading overhaul

Trading in general occupies much of the Pokemon experience core, but in Pokemon GO, it's still largely restricted and could be really pricey, especially for new players.

The way it is now, trading Pocket Monsters with friends can burn through a lot of Stardusts. Additionally, some restrictions exist on what and the way one can trade.

Many players have been wishing for a more flexible trade system, maybe closer to the mainline Pokemon games or at least have it much easier. This would make trading more accessible and fun, especially for those who have just entered the game.

2) A better way to track Pokemon

With the current sighting system in place in Pokemon GO, the frustration in finding specific Pokemon is pretty high. In the early days of the game, the method in use for tracking was much more user-friendly and gave a better notion of where Pocket Monsters were. Now, you often get the feeling that you might be simply guessing their whereabouts, due to which catches may go missing.

Players have been asking for a more precise tracking system, one that can help them get clearer directions on where to find particular Pokemon and make the hunt more satisfying.

3) More interaction with wild Pokemon

Interacting with Pokemon is a big part of what makes the franchise so engaging. However, in Pokemon GO, the only interaction players have with wild critters is when they're throwing pokeballs at them. This lack of engagement can feel a bit flat.

Players have been requesting the ability to feed berries or use other items to interact with wild Pokemon. These interactions could make catching rare Pocket Monsters easier or help them evolve into the desired forms, adding a new layer of depth to the game.

4) More endgame content

For players at a higher level, Pokemon GO really starts to feel like a circle; you level up, fill out your Pokedex, and that's about it.

A lot of players have been saying they need challenging content or at least some new form of raids or higher level battles that adds more strategy while promoting teamwork. More elements of this nature could provide more goals and keep excitement for the game among veterans.

5) An easier way to earn more Pokecoins

Pokecoins are the in-game currency required to buy key items like Pokeballs, Incubators and Revives and other accessories. For now, the main way to earn Pokecoins is through gym defense, which is somewhat slow and limited. The other way is to pay real money in exchange for these coins.

Players are requesting that more ways of earning Pokecoins be made available, like daily tasks, events, and milestones. It would be much more rewarding if more chances were given to players to earn Pokecoins in the game itself, so that they could enjoy it without needing to spend real money or waiting too long.

Although Pokemon GO has evolved since its release, there is always space for improvement. A trading overhaul, better tracking, more interactions with wild Pokemon, additional endgame content, and new ways of earning Pokecoins are only a few features that would make the game even better.

As Niantic continues to update Pokemon GO, players hope these highly requested features are considered and implenmented to make the game an even greater adventure for everyone.
