5 Pokemon Niantic should add to Pokemon GO's Halloween 2024
1) Darkrai
Darkrai is known as one of the strongest Dark-type raid battlers in Pokemon GO. Due to its glass cannon build, it is perfect for the new state of Raid Battles, which prioritize damage over defense.
Darkrai is rarely seen outside of the Halloween season. Introducing the Pocket Monster during Halloween seems to be a tradition of Niantic's.
Darkrai is a Mythical Pokemon fans of the franchise see very little of. Due to its signature move, Dark Void, being a notorious pain for competitive play, it does not appear in every generation.
For this reason, many fans would appreciate seeing Darkrai during the Halloween season.
2) Giratina
Giratina is another iconic Pocket Monster that has been present in almost every Halloween event hosted in Pokemon GO.
Giratina's Ghost and Dragon typing, as well as its spooky design, makes it one of the most iconic critters in the franchise, so seeing it return would make a lot of casual and hardcore fans happy.

Both of Giratina's forms have been metagame staples in Niantic's mobile game since their debut. It would be a bit difficult to fit raids for both forms of Giratina in one short Halloween event, but even one of them returning would make players happy.
3) Dynamax Gengar
With Dynamax Pokemon finally in Pokemon GO, players could finally gain access to Dynamax Gengar.
Gengar is the most popular Ghost-type Pokemon in the franchise. The creatures in its evolutionary line are also the first Ghost-type Pocket Monsters ever. As such, it would be appropriate to incorporate them as the mobile title's first Dynamax Ghost-type line.
Gengar is also one of the few Pokemon capable of Gigantamaxing. Similar to Dynamax, Gigantamax grants the user an alternate design and an exclusive Max Move. Gengar could be the perfect candidate to debut this feature in the game.
4) Zoroark
Given that Halloween is known for trick-or-treating, why not include the franchise's most notorious trickster, Zoroark?
Pokemon GO's upcoming Halloween event will probably introduce the critter's pre-evolved form, Zorua. In the past, Zorua has been a trick encounter similar to Ditto, but it appears as the player's Buddy Pokemon instead of certain wild creatures.

Zoroark could also appear as a Three-Star Raid Boss, giving players the opportunity to find one with higher stats. The event could potentially debut its shiny form, with raids giving trainers the perfect opportunity to grind for it.
5) Obstagoon
Evolving from Galarian Linoone, Obstagoon is one of the best Dark-type creatures in the Great and Ultra Leagues. Not only does its scary design fit the Halloween holiday, but since it is native to the Galar region, it also fits into the current Max Out season.
Obstagoon, much like Zoroark, could be made available through Pokemon GO's Raid Battles. This would make it much easier for players to catch one that is ready for use in the competitive Battle League. However, it may also be available in its base form, Galarian Zigzagoon, through wild encounters.
