Pokemon GO's next content season has finally been revealed, with Shared Skies ready to replace World of Wonders. Set to start at the beginning of June and end in September, Shared Skies will contain the next theme of updates the mobile game will receive for the summer. While World of Wonders explored many different places in and out of our dimension, Shared Skies may draw similar inspiration, being named after Niantic's plans for the game in the coming months.

With this in mind, many fans would assume that this season will be great for Flying-type Pokemon. Here are five things Niantic should consider bringing to the game in the coming months.

5 Flying-type Pokemon players would like to see during Pokemon GO's Shared Skies event

1) Rayquaza

Rayquaza is one of the most iconic Legendary Pokemon of all time. Appearing as a secret third Legendary in the Ruby and Sapphire games, Rayquaza would reappear as the main Legendary in Pokemon Emerald, as well as having its own special story event in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire through the Delta Episode.

With Mega Rayquaza being featured in the official announcement post on Pokemon GO's YouTube page, it would be safe to assume that the Legendary Pokemon will return at some point during the upcoming season. As such, many opportunities may arise where players can easily farm its Mega Energy as well.

2) Skarmory

While what we know about Shared Skies in Pokemon GO mostly traces back to the Legendary Pokemon we can expect to see, some fans would love certain standard Flying-types to share the skies with these creatures as well. Skarmory has not been seen commonly for some time.

Being one of the best creatures players can have in the game's Great League tier of competitive play, many trainers looking to make their debut in the ranked landscape may find it easier to do so with Sakrmory in their party. Shared Skies may offer opportunities for this wish to become a reality.

3) Celesteela

Since the reveal trailer for the new season showcased many Ultra Beasts, it would be safe to assume that Celesteela could return to the rotating Raid Boss pool. This Ultra Beast first debuted as a regional exclusive, only being available in one hemisphere.

While it has since become a much easier creature to find worldwide, many players may have missed out on their chance to catch one of these Ultra Beasts. Shared Skies could bring these alternate Legendaries back into Pokemon GO with the event.

4) Yveltal

With the release date of Pokemon Legends: Z-A approaching, the likelihood of an event featuring the Legendary Pokemon from the Kalos region is fairly high. As such, Yveltal would be a great monster to see return in the coming months.

Though it was somewhat underwhelming during its initial debut, it has since received a bevy of stronger move options in its toolkit. This occurrence, where it makes a return, could give players a chance to grind for its rare shiny form, adding further value to this beloved Legendary Pokemon.

5) Drifloon

While many players have set their sights on finding rare Legendaries or Ultra Beasts, hardcore battle enthusiasts will look for creatures that can drastically shift their odds in Pokemon GO's competitive Battle League. This is where the iconic Ghost and Flying-type, Drifloon, comes into play.

On its own, Drifloon can dominate the many variations of Little Cup that Niantic may choose to bring back. Additionally, Drifloon evolves into Drifblim, one of the best stamina tanks in the game's Great and Ultra Leagues. Thanks to its high stamina and unique type combination, Drifblim can easily catch its opponents off-guard.
