Pokemon GO Aspiring Dragons Research Day takes place on December 7, 2024, from 2 to 5 pm local time. This event focuses on rewarding trainers with Dragon-type Pokemon encounters through Research Tasks. During this time frame, the chances of encountering Shiny Pokemon from these tasks will be higher, giving trainers an excellent opportunity to add the rare variants to their collections.
While there won't be any new Pocket Monsters debuting during Aspiring Dragons Research Day, previously available base forms will make their return to the mobile game.

Shiny Swablu and other Shiny Pokemon worth encountering at Pokemon GO Aspiring Dragons Research Day
1) Shiny Horsea
Shiny Horsea is a Water-type Pokemon with a maximum combat power of 1,194. Due to its typing, it is weak to Electric- and Grass-type moves. It can learn two Fast and three Charged Attacks, with Flash Cannon being the highest damage-dealing option.
Trainers can get their hands on Shiny Horsea by completing Field Research Tasks and Paid Research Tasks during Pokemon GO Aspiring Dragons Research Day. Regardless of the method they use to obtain it, Shiny Horsea’s CP will range from 418 CP to 452 CP. This means the 100% IVs CP of a Shiny Horsea will be 452 at Level 15.
Players can evolve Shiny Horsea into Shiny Seadra using 25 Horsea Candy. Moreover, Shiny Kingdra can be obtained by giving 100 Candy and a Dragon Scale to Shiny Seadra.

2) Shiny Skrelp
As a Poison- and Water-type Pocket Monster, Shiny Skrelp is weak to Electric-, Ground-, and Psychic-type moves. Its maximum combat power in Pokemon GO is 1202, with access to two Fast and four Charged Attacks.
All of Shiny Skrelp's Charged Moves take less energy to use, making the creature a quick attacker. Trainers can get this Pocket Monster during Aspiring Dragons Research Day in the same way they obtain Shiny Horsea.
In Research Tasks, Shiny Skrelp’s CP ranges from 421 CP to 455 CP. All Shiny Pokemon that trainers encounter by finishing the research quests on this day will be at Level 15. Hence, after acquiring a Shiny Skrelp, they should give it 50 Candy to evolve it into Shiny Dragalge.

3) Shiny Trapinch
Shiny Trapinch is another Shiny Pokemon that deserves attention during Pokemon GO Aspiring Dragons Research Day. It is a mono-ground-type critter that is weak to Grass-, Ice-, and Water-type attacks. The creature also boasts three Fast and four Charged Attacks, with Struggle Bug and Crunch being its non-STAB moves.
Trainers have to complete either Field Research or Timed Research to hunt down Shiny Trapinch in this event. What's more, the Pocket Monster can be encountered in the 507 to 546 CP range.
Once acquired, trainers can evolve Shiny Trapinch into Shiny Vibrava using 25 Candy. Shiny Vibrava requires 100 Trapinch Candy to reach the final Evolution, Shiny Flygon.
4) Shiny Swablu
Shiny Swablu in Pokemon GO is a Normal- and Flying-type Pokemon, with a maximum combat power of 931 CP. Among all the Shiny features in the Research Tasks of Aspiring Dragons Research Day, Shiny Swablu arguably has the most versatile move pool. Players training this Pocket Monster should be aware of its vulnerabilities, which are Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-type moves.
In the Research Tasks, Shiny Swablu’s CP ranges from 322 CP to 353 CP. Players can evolve it into Shiny Altaria using 400 Swablu Candy. Gathering this huge amount of Swablu Candy on the same day will be tough for collectors. However, they should try to complete as many Research tasks as possible to make things easier.

5) Shiny Carvanha
It will be challenging to hunt Shiny Carvanha during Pokemon GO Aspiring Dragons Research Day since its shiny odds in the wild will not be increased.
Nevertheless, the likelihood of encountering Shiny Carvanha can be manually improved using the Weather Boost effect. Trainers must search for the creature in the areas that experience Rain and Fog weather in-game.
When Lure Modules and Incense are activated in these weather conditions, the probability of encountering Shiny Carvanha in the wild can be improved further.
Players should note that luck is a major factor in finding any Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO Aspiring Dragons Research Day.
