Shiny collectors should get ready to hunt their favorite picks during Pokemon GO Young & Wise, which will start on December 10, 2024, at 10:00 am and conclude on December 14, 2024, at 8:00 pm local time. While Shiny Pocket Monsters are difficult to find in the game, enthusiasts will likely want to try hard to meet Shiny odds or see if they can get lucky.

Trainers should note that Shiny Chill Drive Genesect (which recently debuted with the start of Just My Cup of Tea) will be featured in 5-star raids during this event. Excluding it, here are five Shiny Pokemon that are worth making an effort to get during Pokemon GO Young & Wise.

Note: The list is subjective and in no particular order.

Shiny Mega Latios, Shiny Wyrdeer, and three other must-encounter Shiny Pokemon during Pokemon GO Young & Wise

1) Shiny Drampa

3-star Drampa raids will take place with the start of the Pokemon GO Young & Wise event. Upon defeating its raid, you can encounter either its regular or Shiny variant. You're more likely to get a regular Drampa, as coming across a Shiny Drampa is really difficult. However, luck can always make things easier for you.

Shiny Drampa is a rare creature with Shiny odds of 1-in-64. That said, here is how to beat this Raid Boss using the following strong counters:

  • Mega Lucario: Force Palm and Aura Sphere
  • Mega Rayquaza: Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe
  • Mega Garchomp: Dragon Tail and Outrage
  • Origin Forme Dialga: Dragon Breath and Roar of Time
  • Origin Forme Palkia: Dragon Tail and Spacial Rend
  • Terrakion: Double Kick and Sacred Sword

2) Shiny Tyrunt

Shiny Tyrunt is a Baby Pokemon that can become a powerful beast with evolution. It can be evolved into Shiny Tyrantrum in Pokemon GO during the daytime, using 50 Candies.

This Shiny Pokemon is certainly a head-turner when it comes to appearance. Its bluish color, the body structure of a baby dinosaur, and its adorably angry eyes are enough to compel collectors to grab the opportunity to possess one.

During Pokemon GO Young & Wise, trainers will find Shiny Tyrunt in 2 KM eggs, with Shiny odds of 1-in-64. 2 KM items can be acquired by spinning at PokeStops and Gyms, as well as receiving Gifts from friends.

3) Shiny Togepi

Pokemon GO Young & Wise will be offering another Shiny Baby Pokemon for collectors to get from 2 KM eggs. Shiny Togepi (like its regular variant) is incredibly adorable, with most of its body covered by its eggshell, walking around with its tiny feet.

It's worth noting that the odds of getting Shiny Togepi from 2 KM eggs will be put at 1-in-64. This means you need to hatch as many of these items as possible to come across one.

While Shiny Togekiss can be obtained using 50 Togepi Candy and a Sinnoh Stone on Shiny Togetic, the latter evolves from Shiny Togepi when fed 25 Togepi Candy.

4) Shiny Mega Latios

Mega Latios will make its return in Mega Raids when Mega Banette leaves its position from Gyms on December 12, 2024, at 10:00 am local time. All of this will transpire during the runtime of the Pokemon GO Young & Wise event.

Shiny Mega Latios, which is definitely one of the rarest variants to obtain in the game, can be added to your collection in a somewhat lengthy process. Trainers will have to defeat Mega Latios in Mega Raids to earn an encounter with Shiny Latios. Moreover, they must collect Mega Energy for it to Mega Evolve into a Shiny Mega Latios.

Counters to Pokemon GO Mega Latios Mega Raids:

  • Mega Rayquaza: Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe
  • Dawn Wings Necrozma: Shadow Claw and Moongiest Beam
  • Mega Sceptile: Fury Cutter and Breaking Swipe
  • Origin Forme Dialga: Dragon Breath and Roar of Time
  • Mega Salamence: Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor
  • Shadow Dragonite: Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw

5) Shiny Wyrdeer

During Pokemon GO Young & Wise, players can encounter the Shiny form of Wyrdeer when they take down 3-star Wyrdeer raids. However, the likelihood of this is very slim, given the critter's Shiny odds of 1-in-64. This means that only by winning as many raids as possible, can one get their hands on Shiny Wyrdeer.

Counters to Wyrdeer in Pokemon GO raids:

  • Mega Tyranitar: Bite and Brutal Swing
  • Mega Rayquaza: Dragon Tail and Dragon Ascent
  • Shadow Weavile: Snarl and Foul Play
  • Hydreigon: Bite and Brutal Swing
  • Shadow Houndoom: Snarl and Foul Play
  • Darkrai: Snarl and Dark Pulse
