There is plenty to dissect about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Indigo Disk DLC based on official information and leaks. How reliable the leaks are can vary from one source to another. What should be noted here is that there is a good chance that the content leaked thus far could end up in the two games' second DLC update.

Let's take a gander at five examples of content that can be expected for release at some point in the future.

This article's title references October 2023 in the sense that the information here comes from that month and year. This isn't meant to imply that the Indigo Disk DLC is coming out in that timeframe.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Indigo Disk DLC: Things to expect based on current leaks and news

1) Returning Pokemon

The entire Indigo Disk Pokedex has already been datamined, as pictured above in the tweet. There will be over 200 creatures in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Blueberry Academy Pokedex, although this is subject to change. Some of the returning species are already present in the game, like the Forakie and Charmander lines.

However, others will be coming back soon. The Bulbasaur and Squirtle lines are among them, so fans may be overjoyed to see them become playable once more.

The upcoming DLC update should also allow players to transfer these returning Pocket Monsters from HOME to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

2) 19th Tera Type

On the official Pokemon Scarlet and Violet website, there is a passage that reads:

"And now, in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, a new Tera Type has been discovered—a nineteenth Tera Type. Something about it seems different from the eighteen Tera Types we've seen before, but much is yet unknown. What is the truth behind this nineteenth Tera Type?"

Players assume that anything can use this 19th Tera Type since Baxcalibur is randomly seen with this phenomenon. Its type-matchups are currently unknown, as are what advantages it might have over what's already in the two games.

3) Dipplin evolution

Oddly enough, Dipplin can use Eviolite. This item can only be used on something that isn't fully evolved in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In The Teal Mask DLC, players could use a Syrupy Apple on Applin to change it into Dipplin. There was no additional evolution at that time. Despite this fact, the creature can use Eviolite, which hints at an additional evolution in a future update.

It would make sense for Dipplin to evolve in the Indigo Disk DLC. Some rumors point to it having multiple heads like a Hydra, but there is no credible image leak of it just yet.

4) Dokutaro

Some Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks indicate that there will be a peach-like Pokemon in The Indigo Disk DLC. The creature's design appears to be based on the fruit with the same name, and players can even see a doll of it in The Teal Mask's Masui Town next to an old vendor.

Its name is apparently Dokutaro, and it's been associated with the Poison type in some Indigo Disk rumors. "Doku" translates to "Poison" in Japanese.

One of the assets for The Teal Mask DLC shows Dokutaro next to the Loyal Three, all of whom would share a certain type (if the rumors are true).

5) Other new Pokemon

Ending this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet list is some official information provided by Game Freak back when The Indigo Disk was revealed. The new Pokemon officially coming to the games include:

  • Terapagos
  • Archaludon (Steel/Dragon)
  • Raging Bolt (Electric/Dragon)
  • Iron Crown (Psychic/Steel)

This list doesn't include the leaked newcomers like Dokutaro or Dipplin's presumed evolution.

Terapagos is the mascot Legendary of The Indigo Disk DLC. Archaludon is an evolution of Duraludon, but the method of getting it is unknown. Raging Bolt is the past form of Raikou, while Iron Crown is the future form of Cobalion.
