Mythical Pokemon are challenging to find and collect in Pokemon GO, so one can only imagine how rare their shiny variations are. These classes of pocket monsters are more difficult to come across than Legendary ones. We often get to see the introduction or return of the Legendaries in 5-star Raids, Elite Raids, Special Research Tasks, or via encounter rewards of the GO Battle League.

However, GO events don’t have enough space for the debut or arrival of shiny mythicals or their regular versions. This unorthodox practice of who can come into the game has astonished trainers and left them wondering which shiny mythical creatures are most underrated.

Here, we have provided a list of the five most underrated Shiny Mythical Pocket Monsters in Pokemon GO.

Five undervalued Shiny Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon GO

5) Shiny Darkrai

Pokemon GO Shiny Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokemon, is a mono-Dark-type Pocket Monster. Players saw the introduction of this Mythical creature at the start of the 2020 Team GO Rocket Global Take-over event. They had to defeat Darkrai's 5-star Raid Battles to come across Shiny Darkrai.

Why underrated?

  • Some players believe Shiny Darkrai's design is unpleasant.
  • Although it is not respected for its ability to tackle raids, it is a phenomenal Dark-type attacker.
  • It arrives in Raid Battles more often than other Shiny Mythical Pokemon. So, players think that it is overrated, which is false.
  • While it is treasured by many for its Pokemon GO combat power, some prefer not to join battles with it for this reason.

4) Shiny Jirachi

Shiny Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon, is a dual Steel- and Psychic-type monster in Pokemon GO. It was released during the GO Tour: Hoenn - Las Vegas event. Trainers were able to get this Shiny Mythical Pokemon by completing the fifth part of Masterwork Research: Wish Granted Special Research Task.

Why underrated?

  • Shiny Jirachi’s body is attractive, and its design is eye-pleasing, thanks to its baby-like appearance.
  • Many trainers have second thoughts about its well-balanced stat distribution and don’t like to pay attention to the fact it can be useful for various Pokemon GO battle scenarios.
  • Even though it is the worst Psychic-type attacker, it is a wonderful Steel-type attacker.
  • In many formats of the GO Battle League, Shiny Jirachi is a disliked contender. But, it can shine in the Fantasy Cup.

2) Shiny Land Forme Shaymin

Shiny Land Forme Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokemon, is a Grass- and Flying-type critter in Pokemon GO. At the beginning of the 2024 GO Tour: Sinnoh - Los Angeles, this Shiny Mythical Pokemon was made available for collectors via a Special Research Task called a Radiant Union. By completing the fifth part of this task, one could get their hands on Shiny Land Shaymin.

Why underrated?

  • Trainers often tend to forget that it is cute and adorable and resembles a hedgehog. It even has visually striking body fur that looks exactly like grass.
  • It is a decent Grass-type attacker.
  • It doesn’t gain enough recognition for being a rare Pokemon GO shiny mythical.
  • Although not made for the GO Battle League, Shiny Land Forme Shaymin is collected to showcase among friends.

3) Shiny Chill Drive Genesect

Shiny Chill Drive Genesect was recently debuted by developer Niantic with the commencement of Pokemon GO Just My Cup of Tea on December 3, 2024. During the event, it was available in 5-star Raids. That said, trainers had to take down this Raid Boss to encounter this Shiny Mythical Pokemon.

Why underrated?

  • Other alternative Steel-type creatures are preferred over it.
  • Trainers fail to respect the fact that it has an amazing lore.
  • Shiny Chill Drive’s Pokemon GO design says out loud that the cannon on its back makes it a glass cannon. However, it is a good PvP Pokemon for the Master League.
  • Community members sometimes don’t remember that it is a great Bug- and Steel-type attacker.

1) Shiny Melmetal

Shiny variations of Meltan and Melmetal are two monsters that players can get without having to participate in events. They are the only tradeable mythicals in Pokemon GO. Shiny Melmetal, the Het Nux Pokemon, can often be overshadowed by other creatures of this status in the mobile game when we compare it based on rarity.

Why underrated?

  • People sleep on its unique design, without realizing its body is composed of several combined Meltans.
  • It cannot defend Gym with its might but is a strong Steel-type attacker.
  • One doesn’t like to praise its resistance against a wide array of moves.
  • Players don’t show enough love to this strong contender of the Great League, Master League, and Fantasy Cup.
