Collecting shiny Pokemon is arguably one of the most popular activities among Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players. These Pocket Monsters are held in high regard in the community due to their rarity. They have an altered color palette and some neat particle effects when sent into a battle.

With every new generation of creatures comes a wave of new shiny Pokemon for players to collect. However, some shiny forms are worth collecting more than others.

Listed below are five of the best shiny Pokemon from the Paldea region.

Ranking the 5 best shiny Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

5) Chi-Yu

Chi-Yu, a member of the Legendary Quartet freed by pulling the pins around Paldea, has one of the best shiny forms in the entire Pokemon franchise. While its original design plays well with the concept of a fire goldfish, its shiny form cranks up the cool factor to 11, sporting black accents with shadowy blue fire.

Since Chi-Yu is a Legendary Pokemon, its value is much higher compared to a standard wild shiny Pokemon. Players have to go out of their way to soft reset their game until they find their desired shiny Chi-Yu, but the effort is worth it.

4) Toedscruel

Toedscruel is one of the few examples of regional convergent forms that take old designs and drastically rework them in terms of world-building.

In Paldea, Tentacruel has adapted and evolved into a species akin to mushrooms rather than jellyfish. The color combination of black, hot pink, and various shades of purple fit the new mushroom in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by bringing a touch of psychedelic into its design. It is bound to add some dramatic colors to any player's shiny collection.

3) Spidops

Though it may not be the best Pocket Monster in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Spidops has one of the best and most fitting shiny forms in the games. The red and blue color scheme of this humanoid spider leaves its shiny variant feeling like a reference to Spider-Man. Given its ability to spin complete webs, controlling one thick strand at a time, its shiny form fits too well to be a coincidence.

Spidops is also a fairly easy shiny form to hunt. Thanks to the fact that it evolves from the Bug-type Tarountula, players can hunt for the creature's shiny variant and evolve it into Spidops at any point in their playthrough.

2) Tatsugiri

Tatsugiri's shiny form has a surprising amount of detail. This is because each of the three main forms of Tatsugiri has its own shiny variant. It would have been much easier for the developers to just change the color of the rice-like cushion they all lay on, but they took the extra step, and each of the three forms got distinct shiny variants.

Given how niche Tatsugiri strategies have become in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's competitive scene, many players may not find it worth the effort to hunt down its shiny form.

1) Clodsire

Clodsire has quickly become one of the most beloved Pocket Monsters in the franchise. With its bean-bag-like body, its Teddy Bear eyes, and its mouth, which is always curled into a smile, what player would not want to add this creature's shiny form to their collection?

To make it even more worth the effort, Clodsire is one of the top battlers to come from Paldea. Though it has fallen down to the ranks of Under Used following a recent update to the ladder, its role as a tanky utility pick that can easily set up hazards is still relatively uncontested.
