Pokemon GO Max Out is about to see its end very soon, and, as promised, it offered several exciting events to participate in, battles to join, wild spawns to encounter and catch, Shiny creatures to collect, and much more for a good three months. Niantic has said the new season of the mobile game—Dual Destiny—will begin right when Max Out concludes.
Dual Destiny season 21 will kick off on December 3, 2024, at 10:00 am and end on March 4, 2025, at 10:00 am local time. We can expect several fresh content and new changes coming to the game, one of which is Max Mushroom in Max Battles.
Let’s review the six key memories from Pokemon GO Max Out.

Max Battles and five other key highlights from Pokemon GO Max Out
1) Introduction of Max Battles
Max Battles features Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon bosses in the game. This PvE battle gimmick was introduced at the start of the GO Big event on September 10, 2024, during Pokemon GO Max Out season 20.
Power Spots—where trainers can collect Max Particles, items used to join Max Battles—host Max Battles. These locations also enable a trainer to change their Pokemon into Dynamax or Gigantamax.
2) Debut of Galar Starter Pokemon
Pokemon fans had the opportunity to catch Galar Starters—Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble—for the first time in Sword and Shield. They were unavailable in Niantic’s mobile game for a long period, but since the initial event of Pokemon GO Max Out, GO ALL Out, said that these starters would be available to encounter, GO fans were pleased to hear this information.
Multiple monsters from the Galar region were presented during the same event, making this effort one of the memorable highlights of the season.
3) Competitions for the GO Battle League
One way to experience Niantic’s mobile game is to combat online opponents in the GO Battle League. There are various PvP formats that trainers can join to see how Fast and Charged moves work, how opponents use strategies, which monsters are great PvP contenders and what can be done to become a pro player by gaining battle knowledge.
Back when the Pokemon GO Max Out was on the run, the devs decided to instigate competitions like Master Premier, Halloween Cup, Willpower Cup, Great League: Remix and more. This made Season 21 a memorable one, as battlers were eagerly waiting for formats like Halloween Cup and Willpower Cup to make their comeback, as they are Seasonal Cups.
4) First-time appearance of the Toxtricity family
Toxel, an Electric and Poison-type Baby pocket monster, can be evolved into two different lines, Toxtricity (Lowkey) and Toxtricity (Amped Form). Furthermore, there is one more variation called Gigantamax Toxtricity. All of them are included in the Toxtricity family and were introduced during GO Wild Area: Fukuoka, a local event of Pokemon GO Max Out Season.
Not only did the regular variations of these lines make their appearance for the first time in the Fukuoka event, but so did their shiny versions. Some days later, the Wild Area: Global re-released all of the versions globally, making Max Out a wonderful season to enjoy for everyone.
5) Celebration of the Festival of Light
The 2024 Festival of Light, an event to celebrate the biggest festivity of India, called Diwali, was specially hosted for the Indian Pokemon GO gaming community. Its central attraction was the release of Pikachu wearing a Saree.
Trainers in Bengaluru were specially invited to celebrate with this costume form at Phoenix Marketcity. That said, we can proudly say that Pokemon GO Max Out made a huge impact not only in different parts of the world but also in India.
6) Availability of Shiny variations of Galarian Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno
Undoubtedly, one of the most exciting occasions of Pokemon GO Max Out is the Galarian Expedition event. It ran from October 4-11, and for the first time, trainers were able to encounter Shiny Galarian Articuno, Shiny Galarian Zapdos and Shiny Galarian Moltres via Daily Advenure Incense.
We still remember when these Shiny Legendary Pokemon appeared in the wild; they would not flee from collectors' sight. Rather, they would stay there until one caught them. This significant change from devs encouraged trainers to use the given opportunity to the fullest despite these Galarian Birds known for being elusive in nature.
Thank you, Pokemon GO Max Out!
