With the launch of the new generation of Pokemon games, the franchise has introduced newer forms of Mewtwo for collectors. The original Mewtwo is the first one made available to train in Pokemon Gold and Silver. In the same game, one can obtain a total of 151 Kanto Pokemon, including Mew. This is the one whose DNA is extracted to create the most powerful Legendary Pokemon of all time, Mewtwo.

Mewtwo has multiple forms in many different titles, but some are only obtainable in Pokemon GO. Pokemon like Armored and its Shadow form are available in this mobile game. That being said, here is a ranked list of all the known variants of Mewtwo in Pokemon games. Trainers should note that we have used their designs as the basis for evaluation to rank them from worst to best.

Note: The list is subjective.

Ranking all of Mewtwo's forms in Pokemon games from worst to best

5) Mega Mewtwo X

With the release of the highly anticipated Pokemon games X and Y in 2013, the company introduced two new Mega forms of Mewtwo. The first form is Mega Mewtwo X, while the second is called Mega Mewtwo Y. Both forms are very strong for battle purposes, and players often use them in competitive play. However, the X variant is considered the least favorable due to its unattractive appearance. Many fans also believe that it is a rip-off of the main design.

4) Armored Mewtwo

Pokemon GO is the only Pokemon game where you can obtain an Armored Mewtwo. The reason behind the name "Armored" is that it wears a metallic armor to protect its body. It's not an evolved or Shadow form; it's simply a Mewtwo that has donned an artificial body suit for extra power.

However, this design is unimpressive as it was expected to be when Niantic made it available for Pokemon fans. Honestly, Armored Mewtwo looks like an Autobot from the Transformers franchise.

3) Mega Mewtwo Y

The Pokemon Company released another form of Mewtwo called Mega Mewtwo Y in the X and Y Pokemon games. Similar to what was previously mentioned, both the X and Y variants have similar power stats, but the latter has an eye-catching design.

It is small, cute, and appealing, unlike the Y form, whose legs and arms are too big. In fact, the best part is that it looks quite similar to Mew, a Mythical Pokemon whose DNA was extracted to create Mewtwo.

2) Shadow Mewtwo

Mewtwo's original and Shadow versions have identical designs. However, the latter has two red eyes and a purple aura around its body, which blends perfectly with its body color scheme. As the heart of the Shadow Mewtwo is corrupted by evil, it appears malicious. This form can be obtained in only one Pokemon game - Pokemon GO. To get it, players have to defeat Shadow Mewtwo in Shadow Raids.

1) Original Mewtwo

No other forms of Mewtwo in Pokemon games can match the design of the original Legendary Mewtwo. It is extremely popular among fans, and if it weren't for this Genetic Pokemon, we would not have seen its X, Y, Armored, and Shadow variants. It has a classic design, appropriate shades, and intimidating eyes. That said, the regular version is the best in this ranking list.
