Hisuian Pokemon are some of the newest creatures to come to Pokemon GO. From the ancient Hisui region, which is the region we all now know as Sinnoh, many now-extinct variants of creatures ran rampant. Now, these monsters can be found in Niantic's mobile spin-off through a few different means.

However, much like a lot of the other creatures in the franchise, not every Hisuian form is created equal. Some are simply better than others for competitive play. Since Pokemon GO has a drastically different form of gameplay for its battles, many of the creatures that are good in the main series, may not perform as well in the mobile game. The following is each fully-evolved Hisuian Pokemon ranked in Pokemon GO.

Ranking Pokemon GO's Hisuian Pokemon from weakest to strongest

16) White-Stripe Basculin

While White-Stripe Basculin does evolve into Basculegion, that creature is not yet available in Pokemon GO. With Basculin being an underwhelming unevolved creature, there is no real reason to use it in the competitive Battle League or for Raid Battles when much better Water-types exist.

15) Hisuian Braviary

Hisuian Braviary sharing a typing with Lugia makes it incredibly redundant and almost useless (Image via Niantic)

Unlike the Unova form of Braviary, Hisuian Braviary is a Psychic and Flying-type. This gives it the same typing as Lugia, a Legendary Pokemon that is significantly better than it from stats to their movepools. This makes using Hisuian Braviary in any context irrelevant.

14) Hisuian Decidueye

Hisuian Decidueye's worse defensive typing makes it a liability in many competitive contexts (Image via Niantic)

Hisuian Decidueye is easily the worst Grass-type Starter in Pokemon GO. This is thanks in part to its lack of access to the signature move Frenzy Plant like the other Grass Starters in the game. In addition, its Grass and Fighting typing gives it many more weaknesses compared to its Alolan counterpart.

13) Hisuian Arcanine

Hisuain Arcanine's poor defensive typing holds it back in terms of viability (Image via The Pokemon Company)

Hisuian Arcanine is still Arcanine at its core. With great stats and a wide array of moves of differing elements at its disposal, some players would be surprised to learn that it is on the weaker side in terms of its viability. Fire and Rock are notoriously bad types together due to their shared weakness of Ground-type attacks.

12) Wyrdeer

Wyrdeer is not as big of an upgrade as many fans were hoping, leaving relatively disappointing, but with some niche usages (Image via Game Freak)

While Wyrdeer is not outright horrible or a liability, it is a bit underwhelming. While other Hisuian variants received meaningful buffs through signature moves or type changes, Wyrdeer only gets a minor stat boost and a slight increase to its maximum combat power. This keeps it out of high-tier competitive play. It may make for a decent battler for newer players looking to take on early-game raid content.

11) Hisuian Electrode

Hisuian Electrode is a niche pick in all three tiers of competitive play, but almost entirely worthless for Raid Battles (Image via Niantic)

Hisuian Electrode is an Electric and Grass-type Pokemon. This is a unique type combination for the Hisuian Electrode line, with the secondary Grass typing ridding it of the Electric typing's notorious weakness to Ground. However, its base stats hold it back from doing anything special with this typing.

10) Overqwil

Overqwil is a Dark and Poison-type, which is only weak to Ground-type attacks (Image via Game Freak)

Overqwil is one of the few monsters in the franchise to possess a type combination with only one weakness. Being a Dark and Poison-type, it is only weak to Ground-type moves. With this and decent damage-dealing potential, Overqwil has become a trusty niche pick in the Great and Ultra Leagues, but it rarely sees much play due to its low overall bulk.

9) Kleavor

Kleavor's lacking moveset is the only thing keeping it from truly excelling (Image via Game Freak)

Kleavor is a regional evolution of Scyther, and a Bug/Rock-type. Despite this, Kleavor does not have access to any Bug or Rock-type fast attacks. Understandably so, this makes it unusable in most serious contexts like high-tier Raid Battles or competitive play, but it has rare use in the Master League.

8) Hisuian Typhlosion

Hisuian Typhlosion's Ghost and Fire-type makes it an interesting pick due to the combination's rarity (Image via Niantic)

Hisuian Typhlosion is a decent choice for competitive play, despite not having access to Blast Burn like other Fire-type starter Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Ghost and Fire is also an incredibly potent type combination for both offense and defense, making it better than the standard Typhlosion in this regard.

7) Hisuian Samurott

Hisuian Samurott's access to coverage options and debuffs makes it the best of the Hisuian starters in Pokemon GO (Image via Niantic)

Hisuian Samurott adds the Dark typing to the Unovan variant, as well as readjusts some of its stats. Though it lacks access to the signature Hydro Cannon, Samurott has access to Icy Wind. It is a spammable charged attack that debuffs the opponent's attack stat with each use regardless of the move being shielded.

6) Ursaluna

Ursaluna is a potent threat in Master League, but a bit of a push-over in other tiers (Image via Niantic)

Ursaluna is a new evolution of Ursaring. Being a Ground and Normal-type, in addition to receiving a large stat boost, Ursaluna is a dominant threat in places where its potential can truly be unleashed. This leaves it incredibly viable in Pokemon GO's Master League, as well as a good choice for Raid Battles.

5) Enamorus

Enamorus's Incarnate form is the only one available in Pokemon GO (Image via Niantic)

Enamorus is a new elemental genie, adding to the group originally found in the Unova region. Enamorus lacks its Therian form at the moment, which significantly harms its viability. Nevertheless, being a Fairy and Flying-type Legendary Pokemon, it has carved out a decent niche in the game's Ultra and Master League.

4) Sneasler

Sneasler is relatively decent overall in Pokemon GO for both PvP and Raid Battles, but its shadow variant has proven to be one of the most consistent Fighting-types in the competitive scene. Shadow Sneasler is viable in every competitive tier of play as well.

3) Hisuian Avalugg

Hisuian Avalugg is one of the tankiest Ice-types in Pokemon GO (Image via The Pokemon Company)

Hisuian Avalugg is a tanky Ice and Rock-type Pokemon with access to strong moves, and overall balanced stats with a slightly higher defense. With good Ice-types being incredibly rare in Pokemon GO, Hisuian Avalugg is incredibly valuable among raiders, as well as those looking for a tank to use in Master League.

2) Origin Dialga

Origin Dialga may only be good in Master League, but it also has an Adventure Effect, Roar of Time (Image via Game Freak)

Origin Dialga is a new form of the Sinnoh Legend that debuted in Legends: Arceus. Being a Legendary Pokemon, it is great for Master League battles, as well as raids. Its true value comes from its Adventure Effect on its signature move, Roar of Time. This effect pauses the timer for items like Incenses and Star Pieces.

1) Origin Palkia

Origin Palkia is the best Water-type in Master League at the moment, as well as having an Adventure Effect for its signature attack (Image via Game Freak)

Origin Palkia has to be the highest-value Hisuian Pokemon in Pokemon GO due to its high overall stats, strong moves, great defensive typing, and its Adventure Effect. Spacial Rend's Adventure Effect increases the interaction range of the player on the overworld map, allowing them to spin Pokestops from further away.
