Pokemon GO's upcoming GO Tour series of events has many players excited given its theme around the beloved Unova region. While we have known some minor details about the event for some time now, Niantic has just released more information about the celebration.
Niantic has also put out information regarding what Pokemon will be making an appearance during the event. Here is everything shared in the recent announcement from Niantic regarding Pokemon GO's GO Tour 2025 event.
Everything revealed in Niantic's recent Pokemon GO Tour announcement
1) Kyurem Fusions

Kyurem's two fusions, Black and White Kyurem, will come to the game during the GO Tour event. Much like Necrozma, this Pokemon can fuse with one of two Legendary Pokemon to take on a new form. Kyurem can use Fusion Energy to fuse with either Zekrom or Reshiram to become Black or White Kyurem, respectively.
Being a powered-up version of a Legendary Pokemon, Black and White Kyurem will likely become some of the most valuable Raid Battlers in Pokemon GO. However, each of these new fusions will possess Kyurem's Ice and Dragon typing, so their list of advantageous match-ups is not very long.

2) New signature charged attacks
Black and White Kyurem will be added to the game with their respective signature moves, Freeze Shock and Ice Burn. However, a new Adventure Effect will not be introduced for these attacks like how it was done for Necrozma, Origin Palkia, and Dialga's alternate forms.
These moves can be accessed by a Kyurem with Glaciate. When it fuses with either Zekrom or Reshiram, this move will transform into the form's respective signature move. It has also been confirmed that Smeargle will not be able to learn either of these charged attacks, likely to keep it from decimating Little Cups.

3) Meoletta is returning
As is standard with most of Pokemon GO's yearly events, a special research ticket will be made available that rewards players with the chance to get their hands on a Mythical Pokemon. This year, a Shiny Meloetta will be featured for trainers to find. The price of this ticket has yet to be revealed, but it could be anywhere from $5 to $15.
Meloetta has been available in Pokemon GO for some time now, but fans of the mobile game may be unaware that this creature has another form in the main series. It is unusual that Niantic is yet to implement Meloetta's Pirouette form as of writing, but they may be planning to have it change forms in battle, similar to Morpeko.

4) Shiny Deerling debuts
Niantic has also confirmed that Shiny Deerling will debut during GO Tour 2025. This creature has unique forms tied to the different seasons of the year, but the GO Tour will feature rotating habitats revolving around each season. This will give collectors time to get their hands on each of the forms of Deerling, as well as their corresponding shiny variants.
Deerling's form changes very little with each season, only impacting the main color of its body. However, these seasons have a much bigger impact on Sawsbuck, Deerling's evolution. Sawsbuck has unique designs depending on the type of Deerling it evolved from, so collectors will have a lot of content to sink their teeth into.

5) Region-locked Pokemon
Sigilyph, Bouffalant, and Maractus are all Unova Pokemon that have been restricted to only appear in certain locations. However, this restriction has been lifted for GO Tour 2025, as it has been confirmed that these creatures will be available through hatching 10-kilometer eggs.
Additionally, these creatures will also be available in their shiny forms, which is great news for collectors. However, once the event ends, the spawning restrictions on these creatures will be put back into place, so users will need to hurry if they want to add these special monsters to their collection.

6) Costumed Pikachus
New costumed forms of Pikachu have also been confirmed to be added to Pokemon GO for the upcoming GO Tour 2025 event. While not having much of an effect in the battling department, these costumed versions of Pikachu always make collectors happy.
For this event, special Pikachus wearing the headgear from each of Unova's protagonists from the main series will be available through One-Star Raid Battles. They can also be found in the wild rarely. To make things even better, Niantic is releasing these costumed variants with their shiny forms being available as well.
