Pokemon GO Battle League Season 21 balance updates have been revealed with the announcement of the Dual Destiny season details on November 26, 2024. After extensive alterations in the last season, this time Niantic has kept it short and sweet. They have buffed eight attacks and nerfed one. Moreover, the list of attack availability updates is also short, with only five creatures' move pools getting changed.

All move buffs and nerfs part of Pokemon GO Battle League Season 21 balance updates

The following moves will be buffed in the Dual Destiny season of GBL:

Fire Fang

  • Energy generation increased

Ice Fang

  • Energy generation increased

Thunder Fang

  • Energy generation increased

Bulldoze

  • Trainer Battles: 80 → 45 power
  • Energy cost decreased
  • Chance to decrease the opponent’s Defense by one stage

Fire Punch

  • Trainer Battles: 55 → 60 power

Ice Puch

  • Trainer Battles: 55 → 60 power

Thunder Punch

  • Trainer Battles: 55 → 60 power

Thunder Shock

  • Trainer Battles: 3 → 4 power

The following move has been nerfed for the upcoming season:

Rage Fist

  • Energy cost increased

This is a nerf that the community could potentially see coming. Both Primeape with Rage Fist and Annihilape with Rage Fist have become forces to be reckoned with after the Mankey Community Day on November 10, 2024.


Move availability changes in the Pokemon GO Battle League Season 21 balance update

The following moveset changes will go live in Season 21 of GBL:

  • Dragalge will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Focus Blast.
  • Bibarel will now be able to learn the Fast Attack Rollout.
  • Gliscor will now be able to learn the Fast Attack Sand Attack.
  • Starmie will now be able to learn the Fast Attack Psywave.
  • Starmie will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Surf.

The developers also mentioned that the 50-second switch clock timer will be retained for Trainer battles, friendly battles, Team GO Rocket battles, and Team Leader battles during Pokemon GO Battle League Season 21.
