Appearance

Arctovish is a combination of Fossilized Fish and Fossilized Dino, which means that this Pokemon is anatomically wrong upon revival. For starters, this Pokemon has its head upside down. The top of its head contains its mouth and the actual top of its head resembles a jaw. While the head of this Pokemon represents a Dino, the rest of it is a fish. It has two caudal fins at the bottom along with a shark-like fin at the top towards the tip.

Behavior

This Pokemon’s existence is very strange and because of this, it finds it very difficult to survive. Arctovish, along with the other Galarian fossils, are not the best when it comes to revival. They’re mixed and matched, creating something so unnatural that it struggles to stay alive without being taken care of. For starters, it can easily find food by freezing water bodies. However, it can not eat the food that it collects because it’s mouth is upside down, causing its eventual extinction. While the Pokemon’s skin can decently resist attacks, it finds it difficult to breathe since they belong to both Fish and Dinosaur category, eventually causing their extinction anyway.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Arctovish is a Water/Ice type and thus it is weak to Fighting, Rock, Grass and Electric type moves while resistant to Water type moves. It is also extremely resistant to Ice type moves but it has no immunities.

Best moveset

Arctovish is not the strongest among the fossils and is often ignored due to the alternatives being the same. It has a comparatively low attack and special attack along with abilities are just okay. While Dravcovish is superior in every way, it can still use Fishious Rend and that is a pretty strong move. With the Hidden Ability Slush Rush, this Pokemon’s speed is doubled after using the move Hail. Due to this boosted speed, there is a higher chance of Fishious Rend dealing twice as much damage. Psychic Fangs is for coverage and Icicle Crash is a strong move that receives STAB.

How to catch Arctovish in Pokemon Go?

This Pokemon is not yet available to catch in Pokemon Go.

Trivia

  1. The fossils that are used to combine Arctovish are actually of entirely different Pokemon.
  2. In the anime, the explanation to Arctovish’s head being upside down is because the scientist assumed that the Pokemon swam deep down in the ocean and eats whatever is above it.
  3. Arctovish, along with the other Galarian fossils, are the only Pokemon revived from fossils that do not have a secondary rock typing.
  4. The person who creates Arctovish, Cara Liss, is a wordplay for Careless.

FAQs

What fossil is Arctovish?

Arctovish is a combination of Fossilized Fish and Fossilized Dino.

Where do you get Arctovish?

Find Cara Liss in Route 6 of the Galar Region. Give her the Fossilized Fish followed by the Fossilized Dino. This will create Arctovish.

How do you evolve Arctovish?

Arctovish does not evolve from or into any Pokemon.

Conclusion

Arctovish has many difficulties surviving, especially due to the placement of its mouth. Without a trainer to take care of its needs, an Arctovish will definitely end up dead, either through hunger or through suffocation. However, this Pokemon is pretty decent in competitive matchmaking. While it gets totally outclassed by Dracovish, it can still be pretty decent if you want to hold a battle against a casual friend without crushing their hearts too much.
