Best Miraidon PvP build for singles, explained

In single battles where redirection and speed control is not a possibility, a bulky special attacking set for Miraidon works best. This is further boosted by the Assault Vest item and the defensive Fairy Tera type.

Miraidon's ability Hadron Engine sets up the Electric Terrain, which boosts its damage output significantly. Electro Drift and Draco Meteor are the critter's best STAB attacking options. Volt Switch also deals meaningful damage while giving Miraidon the ability to pivot out of sticky situations. Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam is one of the best coverage options for the Pokemon Violet mascot.

Best Miraidon PvP builds for doubles, explained

Miraidon performs the best when used in double battles with supportive Pocket Monsters like Farigaraf.

Its two best Held Item choices are the Life Orb and Choice Specs as they increase the creature' already massive damage output by 30% and 50%, respectively. While the former damages Miraidon by 1/10 of its max HP every time a damaging move is used, the latter locks the user into the first move it uses until it switches out.

Other than that, both sets have similar game plans and are dependent on supportive Pocket Monsters who can block priority moves like Fake Out hitting Miraidon or redirecting them.

The Life Orb set gives you the option to use Protect to stall out Trick Room turns, while doing that is less advantageous with Choice Specs. The former also utilizes Steel Tera because of its excellent defensive matchups, while the latter is more focused on maximizing its damage output, and, therefore, utilizes Electric Tera.
