Pokemon GO New Year's 2025 will bring back six different costumed Pokemon, namely Ribbon Jigglypuff, New Year’s Hat Hoothoot, Party Hat Wurmple, Snowflake Beanie Pikachu, Party Hat Raticate, and Party Hat Wobbuffet. Although most of these event-featured Pocket Monsters and their evolutions are not viable options for PvP battles, a few can be used to an extent.

This article ranks all the best PvP picks that trainers can get their hands on during the Pokemon GO New Year's 2025 event.

During Pokemon GO New Year's 2025, Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s Hat will spawn in the wild. Players can catch it and trigger its evolution to farm New Year’s Hat Noctowl. They have to use 50 Hoothoot Candy to initiate and complete the evolution process.

2) Snowflake Beanie Raichu

Snowflake Beanie Pikachu is the only one-star raid boss that will appear in Gyms during Pokemon GO New Year's 2025. It will also be available in Research Tasks as an encounter reward.

Trainers can challenge this Pokemon using Ground-type moves. Once they obtain Pikachu wearing a Snowflake Beanie, they can feed it 50 Pikachu Candy to evolve it into Snowflake Beanie Raichu.
