Speedsters in Pokemon Unite are known for their high mobility and burst damage, making them exciting to play but challenging for newcomers. Unlike other roles, Speedsters require a deep understanding of the game’s mechanics, such as jungle rotations, engaging opponents, and securing a level advantage. This makes the role less beginner-friendly overall.

However, if you’re eager to dive into the Speedster role, there are a few choices that are more approachable for newer players. Let's take a closer look at the best Speedsters for beginners in Pokemon Unite.

Best Speedsters to play as a beginner in Pokemon Unite

1) Leafeon

Leafeon is arguably the most beginner-friendly Speedster in Pokemon Unite. Its straightforward leveling curve and powerful abilities make it an excellent starting point for players new to the Speedster role.

Leafeon evolves only once, at level four, which happens almost immediately in the game. This quick evolution, combined with its high burst damage, makes it a formidable choice.

For newer players, the Solar Blade and Leaf Blade combo is recommended. These moves are easy to use and provide significant burst damage. While Aerial Ace and Razor Leaf are also excellent choices, Solar Blade is particularly user-friendly. It's simple to aim, and has a substantial damage output, making it easier to secure knockouts.

The basics of playing Leafeon involve reaching level four quickly by last-hitting wild Pokemon or clearing the jungle.

Once you’ve evolved, put pressure on your enemies with burst damage, and look for opportunities to finish off opponents with your Unite move. Leafeon’s Unite move has a low cooldown, allowing you to use it frequently for team wipes.

  • Recommended Held Items: Attack Weight, Float Stone, Charge Charm, or Energy Amplifier.
  • Recommended Battle Items: Eject Button.

2) Talonflame

Talonflame is another Speedster that, while not ideal for beginners, can be manageable with the right build. The Fly and Flame Charge combo is a simple and effective setup.

Fly allows you to temporarily leave the battlefield and then land on an enemy with a powerful burst of damage. This move is particularly useful for targeting the more fragile opponents and securing objectives.

While Talonflame is incredibly fast and can pressure enemy goals, it’s important to remember that your primary role is to deal damage and support your team in fights.

Many Talonflame players mistakenly focus solely on scoring, but to maximize your impact, you should prioritize helping your team secure victories in battles.

  • Recommended Held Items: Charge Charm, Razor Claw, Float Stone or Attack Weight.
  • Recommended Battle Items: Eject Button.

3) Zeraora

Choosing the third Speedster was tough, but Zeraora edges out others like Absol due to its balanced gameplay and understandable mechanics for beginners. Zeraora isn’t the best Speedster, but it’s not the worst either, and it offers a straightforward approach that can appeal to newer players.

For beginners, the Spark and Discharge combo is recommended. This build allows you to dash into fights, deal damage, and stay in the battle longer.

Eject Button is again a strong choice, giving you an extra escape option since Spark and Discharge don’t offer the same level of mobility as Volt Switch.

With Zeraora, your focus should be on targeting weakened opponents, diving in with Spark, and using Discharge to deal heavy damage. In team fights, use your Unite move to attack multiple enemies and secure crucial knockouts.

  • Recommended Held Items: Razor Claw, Charge Charm, Weakness Policy or Energy Amplifier.
  • Recommended Battle Items: Eject Button or Full Heal

While Speedsters are generally not recommended for new players due to their complexity, the Pokemon mentioned above offer a more accessible entry point into the role.

Each brings its own strengths to the battlefield, from Leafeon’s straightforward burst damage to Talonflame’s objective-stealing potential and Zeraora’s balanced gameplay.

If you’re determined to master the Speedster role, starting with these Pokemon will set you on the right path.
