Pokemon GO's Harvest Festival is a great way to ring in the Halloween season. Since the event grants trainers the ability to catch some of the more festive Pocket Monsters in its catalog, many players will not want to miss it. Not only has this festival brought new creatures to the game, but it also offers one of the best opportunities to find Pumpkaboo.
Though many trainers may have been quick to write off Pumpkaboo, the recent implementation of the Pokestop Showcase feature has given a new purpose to the species. In the main series, Pumpkaboo was the first creature to feature different sizes. Of course, this small detail would eventually extend to all the Pocket Monsters we know today.
So, how can players expect to find Pumpkaboo in the wild during Pokemon GO's Harvest Festival?

Tips for finding Pumpkaboo in Pokemon GO
Before hunting a particular species in Pokemon GO, there are various factors that players should consider. The most important factor is arguably the weather in a given area. Much like the main series, the climate of an area plays a key role in determining what kinds of creatures can spawn there.
This mechanic is known as Weather Boosts in Pokemon GO and directly increases the likelihood of certain creatures spawning, depending on their elemental typing. Pumpkaboo is a Ghost- and Grass-type species, leaving it with an increased chance to spawn while in sunny and foggy weather. These are not very difficult weather conditions to find, so trainers should have no issues.
To prioritize finding Pumpkaboo, players should try to look for foggy weather, as a lot of the creatures introduced in the Harvest Festival are Grass-type Pocket Monsters. This means hunting in sunny weather will spawn more of every Grass-type species available rather than just Pumpkaboo.
Once these conditions are met, the true hunt for Pumpkaboo can begin.
The use of consumable items like Incense and Lure Modules can make hunting wild Pokemon much easier. These items work by attaching to either the player or a Pokestop. Once attached, they work to greatly increase the general spawn rate either around the lured location or around the trainer. However, Incense will only work if the player remains mobile while it is attached to them.
Trainers can also wait until October 17, 2023, when the Spotlight Hour event featuring Pumpkaboo goes live, to get the creature. From 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm local time, players will be able to find the Pocket Monster at a much higher spawn rate. This is also a great opportunity to look for one of its super-sized varieties, the most valued one of the species.
Trainers may find themselves wanting to evolve their Pumpkaboo. After all, Gourgeist is one of the better creatures that players can use in Pokemon GO's Great League. This evolution will require a total of 200 Pumpkaboo candies.
