Bidoof is a normal-type Pokemon which evolves into the dual water and normal-type Pokemon, Bibarel from level 15. Bidoof is a Pokemon that resembles a beaver with two rectangular front teeth which stick out. Often used as either a TM slave or as a joke Pokemon, Bidoof is known for its unusual mixture of low stats and overpowered abilities as its hidden ability has been banned in many competitive leagues for being too powerful. This makes Bidoof, a notably derpy Pokemon, known for being both incredibly weak and incredibly overpowered, depending on the circumstances. While it can be confusing to hear about the odd popularity of Bidoof, the joking nature has made it an abnormal icon for the Pokemon series.

Appearance
Bidoof is a Pokemon that resembles a beaver with a short dark brown snout, a small, red nose, and cream markings on its underside and surrounding its face. Bidoof has round tufts of fur all across its body notably on its circular ears, lining the edge of its face, and adorning its tail. In regards to Bidoof’s tail, female Bidoofs have three round tufts and male Bidoofs have five round tufts. Due to its beaver resemblance, Bidoof has black paws with three webbed toes and two rectangular front teeth which stick out.
Behavior
Bidoof uses its large teeth to gnaw on wood and rocks. These teeth never stop growing, causing Bidoof to need to gnaw on hard substances to keep them a reasonable length. Bidoof lives in groups with other Bidoof near bodies of water. Like real-life beavers, Bidoofs can move logs in order to control the flow of water in rivers and streams. Despite being stout and round, Bidoofs are known to be shockingly agile for its shape, and are difficult to perturb. Finally, Bidoofs are known for being unintelligent and silly in how they behave, with Bidoof being known as a Pokemon that can easily get itself into trouble.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Bidoof has relatively low stats due to it not being evolved although it has a pretty high HP stat and a decently high attack stat. Despite being described as somewhat agile in official Pokemon lore, Bidoof’s speed stat is its lowest stat. As a normal-type Pokemon, Bidoof is weak to fighting-types and immune to ghost-types. In order to prepare for its early evolution, trainers should also be aware that its evolution, Bibarel, as a water and normal-type Pokemon is weak to fighting, grass, and electric-type attacks, immune to ghost-type attacks, and resistant to steel, fire, water, and ice-type attacks. Bidoof and its evolution have very powerful abilities, though its weak stats make these abilities difficult to take advantage of.
Best moveset
First of all, it is important to keep in mind that Bidoof with the hidden ability, Moody is banned from competitive leagues because it is considered overpowered in how it causes Bidoof to have a random stat raised by 2 stages and have another random stat lowered by 1 stage at the end of each turn. For this reason, if you want to compete in competitive leagues, you should focus on a Bidoof with the abilities Simple (when Bidoof’s stat stages are raised or lowered, the effect is doubled) or Unaware (Bidoof ignores other Pokemon's attack, special attack, and accuracy stat stages when taking damage, and ignores other Pokemon's defense, special defense, and evasiveness stat stages when dealing damage). Out of these two abilities, Simple works best for a wall breaker strategy despite Bidoof’s low speed and bulk, since it increases stat boosts effects for moves like Swords Dance. Quick Attack can help make up for its low speed, while Return and Aqua Tail serve as damage-dealing moves for Bidoof to use.
