Budew is a grass and poison-type Pokemon that was introduced in Generation IV and like many others introduced in Generation IV, it is notable in the importance of friendship as a mechanic in training. Evolving Budew requires a friendship level of at least 220 and the base friendship level of a caught Budew, without using a luxury ball, is 70. Friendship in Pokemon can be improved by battling with a Pokemon in your party, equipping a soothe bell to increase the rate of friendship gain, or by catching a Budew with a luxury ball. After achieving the necessary friendship level for evolving Budew, you must then level Budew up once, during the day, in order to evolve it into Roselia.

Appearance
Budew is a bipedal Pokemon that resembles a rosebud with a yellow face and small, slit-like eyes. It has triangular, stubby yellow feet and it appears to be wearing a green bib. When the two vines that are on top of Budew’s head open up, a big spot can be seen on each. One vine has a blue spot, while the other has a red spot.
Behavior
Budew keeps its buds closed during the cold winter but opens them in the spring in order to release pollen. Its pollen induces harsh sneezing and runny noses, with it lives near clean pools and ponds.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Budew has average stats with a higher than average special defence stat. However, as a grass and poison-type, it is weak to flying, fire, psychic and ice-types but resistant to fighting, water, grass, electric, and fairy-type moves.
Best Moveset
The move, Spikes does damage to all grounded Pokemon and can serve as a useful entry hazard for offensive teams. Sleep Powder lets Budew incapacitate an opposing threat, Giga Drain gives Budew a form of recovery and serves as an effective STAB (same-type attack bonus) move. Finally, Sludge Bomb is a more powerful STAB move with a high poison chance that Budew can use it.

How to catch Budew in Pokemon Go?
While Budew cannot be found in the wild, its evolution, Roserade, can be found in areas with lots of flora, just like any other grass-type Pokemon. These mostly apply to forests and wooded areas although lawns can still work but not as effectively. As a poison-type, Roserade can also be found near ponds, marshes, lakes, cities, parks, and industrial areas. Due to its typing, Roserade can be found more often in sunny or cloudy weather. Budew itself was introduced within the Stardust Blast event, which ran from Nov. 6 to Nov. 13, 2018, which made Budew available by hatching a 5km Egg. After this, Budew could be evolved into Roselia by feeding it 25 candies and can then further evolve into Roserade after being fed another 100 candies.
