Burmy is a Bug type Pokemon that was introduced along with the Sinnoh Region (Generation IV) and it is the base form of Wormadam and Mothim. It always covers itself with materials in the surrounding, making it almost impossible to see it’s actual body and it’s evolution is dependent on its gender.

Appearance

Burmy is a Pokemon that covers itself with materials from its surroundings and its base form is dark gray. It has three forms depending on the materials that it covers itself with; Plant Cloak, Sandy Cloak and Trash Cloak.

Plant Cloak

In this form, Burmy covers itself with leaves. Its entire body except for its face is covered in leaves. At the bottom, it has two twigs sticking out of it.

Sandy Cloak

In this form, Burmy covers itself with sand. Its entire body except for its face is covered in sand. It has three pebbles in the middle of its body.

Trash Cloak

In this form, Burmy covers itself with a fluffy pink substance. Its entire body except for its face is covered in this substance. It has two iron rods sticking out of the middle of its body in two directions.

Behavior

In the wild, Burmy covers itself with leaves and twigs to protect itself from the cold. However, when it goes to cities or caves where it can't find leaves, it covers itself in objects in that surrounding area. Burmy is almost never seen without a cloak and it immediately finds one to replace what it's wearing in case of it being knocked off.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Burmy is a pure bug type so its weaknesses are pretty simple. It is weak against Flying, Rock and Fire type moves, and is resistant to Fighting, Ground and Ground type attacks.

Best moveset

Burmy is one of the weakest Pokemon competitively. This is a common pattern in each region’s starter bug Pokemon. Protect is used to stall. This can come in handy if the opponent is affected by Poison, Burn or Curse. Bug Bite helps in removing the berry that the opponent is holding and can come in handy when it is a Lum Berry or a Sitrus Berry. Electro Web is a good utility as it reduces the opponent’s speed while dealing damage. Finally, you can adjust Hidden Power’s type according to your wish for more coverage. This will be your secondary attacking move.

  2. Despite looking like a bipedal creature, Burmy is actually a quadrupedal creature.
