Pokemon GO is known for its many events and content drops. Although they are not as flashy as the monthly Community Day events, the weekly Spotlight Hour event is still worthy of its fair share of hype. As such, there are a good number of players who look forward to participating in the events.

Trainers will soon be able to find Skorupi at a much higher encounter rate as it will be the spotlight creature featured throughout the duration of the event. While Skorupi is quite an uncommon creature, and being able to easily catch one in the wild is a great concept for a Spotlight Hour, many players are hoping to catch a rare variant of the creature.

The concept of Shiny Pokemon is arguably the most facinating aspect of Pokemon GO. Being able to collect these types of rare creatures sporting an altered color pallet and a flashy particle effect is one of the many reasons why players from the main series try out the mobile game. Thankfully, it has been confirmed that trainers will be able to find a Shiny Skorupi during the upcoming Spotlight Hour event.

Tips for finding Shiny Skorupi in Pokemon GO

Despite what some you may think, the chances of a Shiny Pokemon spawning during this event does not actually increase. Rather, the spawn rate of the creature is increased, meaning it would take less time for one to hypothetically spawn.

As such, the best way to shiny hunt in Pokemon GO is to flood the general spawn rate of an area. A great place to start when it comes to optimally increasing the general spawn rate of a certain type of creature is to analyze the weather. Thanks to the mobile game's weather boost feature, creatures of specific elements have much higher spawn rates in certain weather conditions.

Since Skorupi is a Bug and Poison-type Pokemon, it has the highest spawn rate in areas experiencing rainy and cloudy weather. Once you have an area with this type of weather to hunt in, you can begin to prepare the other components that go into making an effective shiny hunting patrol route.

The next thing you will need to consider is your items. Two, in particular, are key staples in effective shiny hunts. These items are the Incense and the Lure Module. The Incense is an item that attaches itself to your avatar to increase the general spawn rate around you, with this effect being amplified if you remain mobile.

The Lure Module functions very similarly to Incense. The main difference is that the Lure Module attaches itself to a Pokestop to increase the general spawn rate around the posted areas. As such, those looking to shiny hunt during Pokemon GO's Spotlight Hour should have three or four of these items to put on the nearest Pokestops around them.
