Cascoon is a Bug type Pokemon introduced along with the Hoenn Region (Generation III). It is the evolved form of a Wurmple and the pre-evolution of Dustox. This Pokemon wraps itself with silk threads which act as a protective layer while it waits to evolve. It does not battle or move in this stage while it is in the wild.

Appearance
Cascoon has two different looks, varying between the 2D and 3D games. This Pokemon is in an oval shape and is covered in silk and there are marks all around it’s body showing the imperfect silk weavings. It’s colour is while with a little bit of purple mixed in it.
In the 2D games, the sprite makes it seem as if Cascoon has only one eye. It also
produces spikes from all sides of its body. It’s eyes are bloodshot red. The 3D version of the sprite shows a bit of the other eye as well, confirming that this Pokemon does indeed have two eyes.
This version of this Pokemon is not seen producing any spikes, even in its animation but its eyes in this colour are a little less red, while leaning towards maroon.
Behavior
If Cascoon were to be described in a single word, it would be ‘endurance’. Cascoon is the longest case of ‘Bide’ you’ll ever see. While in the cocoon form, if anyone attacks it, this Pokemon endures it through and upon evolution, it will seek payback. This is because this Pokemon can not move in this state as doing so will make it weaker upon evolution.
It lays motionlessly in cracks or camouflages in grass while it preps itself for evolution. The silk which it covers itself with becomes sturdier as time passes, hardening it. It is very hot inside this cocoon. When it nears evolution, cracks are formed on the cocoon. The more it is attacked, the sturdier it becomes upon evolution.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Cascoon is a Bug type and is weak to Fire, Rock and Flying type moves while resisting Ground, Fighting and Grass type moves.
Best moveset
Cascoon is not a Pokemon that should be used competitively as it has no reason or spot in competitive Pokemon. Iron Defense increases your Defense sharply, Bug Bite is a STAB move but will not deal much damage due to its horrible Attack stat. Electro Web is pretty good as a support as it lowers opponent’s speed while damaging them. However, this can be simply changed by switching out. The best shot you have for winning with this Pokemon is to use Poison Sting and pray for that 20% chance of poisoning the enemy and then spamming Iron Defense. Unless you were playing random battles and got really unlucky, there is no reason to play this Pokemon.

How to catch Cascoon in Pokemon Go?
Upon evolving a Wurmple, there’s a 50% chance that it evolves into Cascoon. Wurmple is very common in Parks, Farmlands and Forests. Wurmple evolves into Cascoon using only 12 candies. Cascoon further evolves into Dustox using 50 candies. Currently there is no way to determine whether a Wurmple will evolve into a Silcoon or Cascoon. This Pokemon has never been a raid boss before.
