Castform is certainly one of the more unique Pokemon to be caught out there in the wild. Hailing from the Hoenn region, this third generation Pokemon doesn't have an evolutionary line but instead, it can change itself to accommodate different typings. An adaptable and modular Pokemon, you can use Castform for your type needs. While in base form Castform is a Normal type, the right weather conditions can change that to Fire, Water, or Ice.

Behavior
Castforms are unique, in that they are Pokemon that have been created by man, not nature. Part of this selective creation is that while Castform may not be able to evolve, it has the ability to adapt to its surroundings. This adaptation isn’t something the Pokemon can control, however it’s used to protect itself, its cells rewriting themselves on the fly to help Castform be better suited to its conditions. Castform can chance into three variables:
When there is blazing hot heat, Castform switches to its Sunny Form. Whereas in situations where there is heavy rain, Castform will change to its Rainy Form. Finally, under freezing cold situations, Castform will change into its Snowy Form.
Strengths and Weaknesses
An interesting aspect about Castform is that all its stats are at a healthy 70. So while that means that this Pokemon has the ability to be a jack of all trades, this comes at the cost of Castform being a master of none. Not excelling at anything in particular, it is best used in a team situation, keeping the weather in your favor and helping your partner Pokemon deal out the hurt.
In its standard state, Castform is a Normal type Pokemon and is thus weak to Fighting type moves, immune to Ghost types and has no resistances.
In its Sunny Form, Castform is a Fire-type Pokemon and is weak to Ground, Rock and Water type moves, immune to none but resistant against Bug, Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice and Fairy types.
In its Rainy Form, Castford changes to a Water type and thus becomes resistant against Steel, Water, Fire and Ice Type moves, has no immunities, and is weak to Grass and Electric type moves.
In its Snowy Form, Castford is an Ice type Pokemon and is weak to Fighting, Rock, Fire and Steel types, has no immunities but is resistant to other Ice type moves.
Shiny Castform
The main difference between a normal and Shiny Castform is obvious, as Shiny Castform’s body is now purple with cream colored face markings, though that’s it in terms of variation. To get a Shiny Castform of your own, you’ll have to find one in the wild, hatch one from eggs, or you could always find someone willing to trade. Like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Castform gains a starry animation when it enters a battle.
