Appearance
Chansey is a pink oval Pokémon with dark pink feet, stubby arms and a short tail. It has three hair-like protrusions on each side of its skull with dark pink tips and small eyes. A dark pink pouch sits in the center of its belly, containing a solitary white egg. The egg is considered to be extremely nutritious and it produces numerous fresh eggs each day. However, Chansey is a female-only species; and has no males counterparts.
Behavior
Chansey is a kindhearted Pokémon and will share its eggs with injured people and Pokémon. The eggs become more delicious if Chansey is raised with love and care, with it also used as a high-class cooking ingredient due to the nutrition it has. However, because the egg has been over-harvested, Chansey has become extremely rare in the wild and is said to bring good luck and happiness to those who manage to catch it.
Fleeing from those seeking its egg has made this once-slow species much quicker on its feet than in the past but they are more commonly found in urban settings. Lastly, Chansey is the only Pokémon capable of using the Lucky Punch item.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Since Chansey is a Normal-type Pokemon, it is unaffected against Ghost-type moves; while taking twice the normal damage against Fighting-type moves.
Evolving Chansey
Evolving Chansey in Pokemon Go is extremely easy as it evolves from Happiny which costs 25 Candy and evolves into Blissey which costs 50 Candy. You must walk 15km with Happiny as your buddy before you can evolve it to Chansey.
Best Moveset
Chansey is a normal type of Pokemon that is often used by healers as the Pokemon possesses strong healing properties. Consequently, Chansey is weak in battle and has often been used as a support Pokemon by trainers. Each of its moves are weak but here’s the best moveset a player can use: To start, Pound is a Normal-type Quick move in Pokémon GO that deals 7 damage and generates 6 energy. Hyper Beam is Chansey’s main stab move as it deals 150 damage and costs 100 energy. It can do up to 47.4 DPS but its reduced accuracy makes using it risky.
Then comes Zen Headbutt, which is a Psychic-type Quick move in Pokémon GO that deals 12 damage and generates 10 energy. Zen Headbutt is a very below-average move in PVP (5.33DPS/4EPS/3-turns), despite a huge variety of Pokémon having it. Nevertheless, it can come in handy on defense. Lastly, Dazzling Gleam is another stab move of Chansey that deals 100 damage and costs 50 energy. It alternates between Hyper Beam and Dazzling depending on the type of Pokemon it is facing since each move has its own strengths and weaknesses.
Pound | Hyper Beam |
Zen Headbutt | Dazzling Gleam |
How to catch Chansey in Pokémon Go?
As a Normal Type Pokemon, Chansey doesn’t have set biomes in which to spawn like the water or the desert. However, players have found that they will appear more often near residential areas, and universities. Chansey also hatches out of 10km eggs which are the rarest in the game. Any time you get one, be sure to pop it into an egg incubator as soon as possible. But even then, the odds of hatching a Chansey from a 10km egg are still pretty low, with it probably in the 3% range, but hatch enough eggs and you might get lucky.
