Appearance
Chimchar is a bipedal Pokémon that looks like a chimp. Its fur is predominantly orange with it’s face, outer ears, underside, hands, and paws all a light yellow tone. It has a tiny, circular red patch on its back that is normally hidden by flames created by burning gas in its stomach. When it sleeps, these flames fade out and when it is sick, they burn faintly. Chimchar's ears are disproportionately big in relation to its head size and they are red on the inside while its upper jaw contains two pointed teeth. Chimchar has red marks almost all around its eyes, a swirl-like sign on its chest, and five fingers and three toes on its hands and feet. On its head, it has a swirly crest of hair.
Behavior
A Chimchar's flame is produced by burning gas in its stomach. The flames do not go out in the rain like the flames on a Charmander's tail but rather, Chimchar's flame goes out when they go to sleep. Like regular monkeys, Chimchar can climb the rocky ledges of tall mountains which is where it lives and with their nests made in cliff sides and Rocky Mountains. They originally roamed the Sinnoh region in the wild, though over time, they became a rare sight. Although very mischievous and highly curious, Chimchar can show courage at troubled times
Strengths and Weaknesses
Since it is a Fire-type Pokemon, it is particularly strong against Bug, Steel, Grass, Fire, Ice, and Fairy-type moves. However, it is weak against Ground, Rock, and Water-type moves.
Shiny Chimchar
Shiny Chimchar can be found in the wild and Sunny/Clear conditions will boost its spawn chance. Shiny Chimchar can also be found in Research Encounters and Raids and can be evolved into Shiny Monfero for 25 candies. Shiny Chimchar has a pink-colored body instead of the orange on its regular counterpart.
Best Moveset
Ember is a Fire-type Quick move that deals 10 damage and generates 10 energy with it strong against Bug, Steel, Grass, and Ice Pokémon. Flamethrower, on the other hand, is a Fire-type Main move that deals 70 damage and costs 50 energy and is strong against Bug, Steel, Grass, and Ice Pokémon. In contrast, Return is a Normal-type Main move that deals 35 damage and costs 33 energy. It is weak against Rock and Steel Pokémon and Scratch is a Normal-type Quick move that deals 6 damage and generates 4 energy. It is weak against Rock and Steel Pokémon.

How to catch Chimchar in Pokémon Go?
In Pokemon Go, Chimchar is one of the Pokemon required to accomplish the Sinnoh Collection challenge. Normally, players will be able to discover Chimchar while it’s roaming about in the wild. If players are having trouble getting them to spawn, the best thing they can do is invest in an Incense item. When triggered, players will notice a higher rate of Pokemon spawning for 1 hour and thus it makes it far more likely that Chimchar will emerge within that time frame. Players might also want to catch as many Chimchar as possible to earn enough candy to reach its final evolution.
