Last Modified Jun 2, 2021 07:23 GMT

Often the fire starter’s of a region is the most popular of the three choices and this has continued in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Whether it's due to the competitive use or just sheer appeal, the final evolution of the fire-type starter line, Cinderace is quite well known.

Appearance of Cinderace

Cinderace has a very complex design. Its body shape is similar to a human's but with flairs of rabbit inspiration. Its feet are rabbit's feet and it has large areas of fluffy fur on its head just below its large ears. It has patterns of red and black fur along its body and legs giving the impression of it wearing clothes.

Behavior of Cinderace

Cinderace is a very leg-oriented Pokemon, like how other rabbit Pokemon focus on the strength and dexterity of their legs. Cinderace is often shown kicking a rock from foot to foot as if playing with it, but at a moment's notice the rock can be kicked forward and turned into a fiery projectile.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Cinderace is a pure fire type, meaning it’s strong against bug, steel, fire, grass, ice, and fairy moves, taking half damage from them. Though it’s weak against ground, rock, and water type moves and receives double damage from them.

Shiny Cinderace

Shiny Cinderace, like most shiny Pokemon, is very rare. But once you obtain a Shiny Cinderace, you will see the changes to its design. Shiny Cinderace has an orange head and leg fur instead of the normal red and the rest of its fur is a soft burned grey color, unlike the original’s white. Shiny Cinderace also inverts the colors of the black markings to white.

Cinderace Vmax

Vmax Cinderace is a Pokemon Card that is incredibly powerful. Vmax Cinderace is similar to the base game’s Gmax mechanics. Vmax Cinderace has incredibly high HP as well as a highly powerful max move, Mac Pyro Ball.

Gmax Cinderace

Gmax Cinderace is a massive, intimidating form of Cinderace. Gmax Cinderace does grow in size but not as much as other Gigantamaxed Pokemon. Instead, Gmax Cinderace stands atop a gargantuan flaming ball. Gmax Cinderace does also feature some design changes such as even longer ears flowing down its back.

How to Catch Cinderace in Pokemon Go

Cinderace is not in Pokemon go yet but it can be assumed that like most second evolutions of Pokemon, Cinderace is only obtained by evolving its pre-evolutions. By catching enough Scorbunny and Raboot to obtain 100 Scorbunny candy you will probably be able to evolve Raboot into Cinderace.

Trivia

While Cinderace is clearly rabbit-inspired, it also takes inspiration from football.

Cinderace’s Hidden Ability could also be a reference to the position in football, libero.
