Cursola is the long-awaited ghost-type evolution of Corsola, a notoriously gimmicky Pokemon. Though it does not evolve from a normal Corsola, only its Galarian form, similar to Obstagoon.

Appearance of Cursola

Cursola is a grim depiction of bleached coral, effectively dead coral beds which are sapped of their color from warmer waters. It's effectively the Pokemon form of a warning of what globally warmed oceans do to aquatic wildlife.

Appearance of Cursola

Behavior of Cursola

Cursola behaves similar to a Gorgon, a Greek creature of myth. It largely is docile but has the unintended effect of stiffening the joints of anyone who touches its ectoplasm, similar to a Gorgon’s gaze unintentionally turning people to stone.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Cursola is a pure ghost type so its weaknesses and resistances are the same strange group as other pure ghost types. It is immune to normal and fighting type moves and takes half damage from poison and bug type moves. It's weak to ghost and dark type moves and takes double damage from them.

Galarian Cursola

Galarian Cursola is a mistaken identification of Cursola. While Corsola has a Galarian form there is no Galarian Cursola. Galarian Cursola is just Cursola as Cursola has no other form other than the one it appears as in the Galar region.

Shiny Cursola

Shiny Cursola is the rare, recolored version of Cursola. Shiny Cursola has few differences between itself and its normal form. Shiny Cursola has its solid stand on the ground a black color as well as having its orb-like inner body be black as well. Otherwise, Shiny Cursola is the same as its normal form.

How to Catch Cursola in Pokemon Go

Cursola is not in Pokemon Go at the time but the game does have data for the Pokemon. This data reveals a rather standard method of obtaining it. First, you have to have a Galarian Corsola, which can be found with other ghost types, spawning at night. Once you have a Galarian Corsola and 50 Corsola candy, you can evolve it into Cursola.

Trivia

Cursola is similar to Sirfetch’d, as both have their pre-evolved forms as a Galarian form of a Pokemon that did not have an evolution previously.

Cursola as well as Sirfetch’d also change types from their non Galarian pre-evolutions to a different single type.
