Appearance
Drapion stands 1.3 meters tall and looks like a mutant scorpion. It has a purple body with dark purple accents on its hands, claws, shoulders, abdomen, and tail. Bright white claws and pincers extend from its mouth, hands, four legs, and tail. It also has blue eyelids and blue spots on its stingers. It stands on four legs with a long neck and tail, and strong arms that extend directly from the sides of its head like mandibles.
Behavior
Drapion is an extremely aggressive and territorial Pokemon that is very strong and sturdy but while it produces potent poison, it prefers to overpower its foes with brute strength alone. Drapion has a hard carapace that allows it to shrug off powerful hits and harsh environments and is known as the Sand Demon because it frequently ambushes any foes in the desert.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Drapion’s dual Poison/Dark typing gives it a good defense against Grass, Poison, Ghost, and Dark-type moves and an immunity to Psychic-type moves. However, Drapion is weak to Ground-type moves and takes twice the normal damage from them.
Shiny Drapion
Shiny Drapion trades its purple body coloration for pink colour palette. This palette swap makes it easy to spot Shiny Drapion in Pokémon collections and battles. It is also helped by the fact that like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Drapion gains a starry animation upon entering battle, so keep an eye out.
Best moveset (Drapion)
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Battle Armor
Held Item: Black Sludge
Swords Dance | Knock Off |
Poison Jab | Earthquake |
Drapion is an incredibly powerful battler as its awesome defensive typing and stats, combined with Battle Armor, make it almost impossible to deal significant damage with just one move. Swords Dance gives it setup while Black Sludge helps with recovery but Knock Off and Poison Jab both offer utility and STAB damage. Finally, Earthquake provides it with super-effective coverage against other common physical walls. A Jolly nature gives Drapion an edge over other walls by boosting its Speed and hindering its Special Attack.

How to catch Drapion in Pokemon Go?
Drapion can be found in the wild as a rare spawn, but not through certain Special Research. The easiest way to get Drapion is to evolve Skorupi as it only requires 50 candies to evolve into Drapion. This makes it easy to add this powerful Pokémon to your team and, to make things even easier, Drapion has been a Raid Boss before at multiple tiers. However, its buddy walk distance is medium at 5km.
