Dreadnaw Pokémon

Last Modified Jul 14, 2021 03:38 GMT

Making its first appearance in the eighth generation of Pokemon, Dreadnaw was one of the more popular electric types, outside of everyone’s favorite of course. Their unique look and patterning made them a must have when the first game came out and with the right move-set Dreadnaw can still be a powerful ally to have.

Dreadnaw Appearance

Closely resembling a turtle, Dreadnaw definitely takes inspiration from the snapping turtle with a tough outer shell of brown and yellow that protects Dreadnaw’s teal hide. The most prominent feature of Dreadnaw is its jaw which is easily able to crush just about anything with tremendous force.

Behavior

Dreadnaw is a Pokemon that is not easily tamed and only a true master trainer can ever have a hope of adding this Pokemon to their team. More often than not, most trainers end up releasing their Dreadnaws as they are unable to handle their vicious behavior. Dreadmaws move faster than they look, even with the heavy armor on its back.

Strengths and Weaknesses

While Dreadnaw may have high stats, they’re not the greatest options when it comes to special attack and defense. Pair that with an average Speed stat and you’ll want to be careful when using Dreadnaw in a battle. Because while they may have some power in their moves, if your opponent is faster than you, you could be in for a world of trouble. Dreadnaw is a Water Rock type, and it means that they are strong against Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Normal types. However, they are vulnerable to Grass, Electric, Fighting and Ground.

Shiny Dreadnaw

Shiny Dreadnaw

Hard to locate in the wild, finding a Shiny Dreadnaw is tricky as it is tough to track down. The main difference between a normal and Shiny Dreadnaw is hard to see, as the only thing separating the two is that Dreadnaw’s shell is darker, and it’s hide is a dark green. To get a Shiny Dreadnaw of your own, you’ll have to find one in the wild or hatch one from an egg although you could always find someone willing to trade one.

How to catch Dreadnaw in Pokemon Go?

As of this moment Dreadnaw is not available to catch in Pokemon Go, however there could be an event where the Pokemon is featured or will become available through hatching eggs.

Trivia

  1. They are inspired by snapping turtles
  2. Dreadnaw is regarded as a bite Pokemon
  3. Dreadnaw can be dynamaxed
