It is known as the Blimp Pokemon and is, like most Pokemon, 50% male and 50% female. Drifblim is a rare Pokemon that has three immunities. Most have one or two. Drifloon and Drifblim are the only Pokemon with Flare Boost.

Appearance

Drifblim is a dark purple, hot-air balloon resembling Pokémon and has a white cloud like shape on its head, and red eyes. Its mouth is a yellow “X” while its lower half is a light purple shade, and it has four thin arms that are tipped with yellow. Not only that, the bottom of its body ends in a short, red opening like extrusion that opens outwards.

Behavior

Drifblim is a very strong Pokémon, strong enough to lift other Pokémon or people. But unfortunately for Drifblim, it cannot control when it takes flight and that causes it to constantly drift from place to place. However, because of its gas, Drifblim can control its altitude, by deflating and inflating. It is more comfortable being out in the wild at night in groups, rather than during the day. If a Pokémon or person notices a group of Drifblim, they will suddenly vanish.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As a dual type Flying/Ghost Pokemon, Drifblim is weak to Ghost, Rock, Dark, Ice, and Electric-type moves, and will take twice the normal damage from them. It is immune to Ground, Normal, and Fighting-type moves and is resistant to Bug types, which will do a quarter of the damage. It is also resistant to Poison and Grass types but takes only half the normal damage.

Best moveset (Drifblim)

Drifblim has a lot of strong moves including Explosion, which is a move that has 250 power and 100% accuracy. Here are Drifblim’s best moves: Explosion hits adjacent Pokémon and the user faints, Giga Impact and Hyper Beam block the user from moving next turn while Dream Eater causes the user to gain ½ of the HP inflicted. This works on a sleeping target only.

How to catch Drifblim in Pokemon Go?

The best time to find Drifblim in the wild is between the hours of 8pm and 8am, peaking around 2am. In addition, Drifblim appear near residential areas, farms, open fields, and parks, similarly to Bug-type Pokémon. It was previously available as a 3-star raid boss. Drifblim evolves from Drifloon at 50 candies.

Trivia

  1. Out of all of the Flying-type Pokémon, Drifblim has the highest base stat. It also is tied with Giratina for the highest base stat for a Ghost-type Pokémon.
  2. There are only two Pokémon from Generation III that can be found in the Fluctuating Experience Group: Drifloon and Drifblim.
  3. Drifloon and Drifblim are also the only Ghost/Flying-type Pokémon in the Fluctuating Experience Group.
  4. Like a hot air balloon, Drifloon and Drifblim are the only Pokémon with the Flare Boost ability.

FAQs

Can Drifblim evolve?

No, Drifblim cannot evolve as it is the final stage in a two stage evolution line. It evolves from Drifloon once it reaches level 28.

Is Drifblim a good Pokémon to have?

Because it is immune to Fighting, Normal, and Ground-type Pokémon, this makes Drifblim a great Pokémon to have. Its fantastic moveset along with its solid bulk, makes it a formidable threat to many different Pokémon.

Can Drifblim be shiny?

Yes. Drifbilm’s shiny counterpart is bright yellow and teal in color, rather than the classic purple color. Drifloon can also be shiny.
