The frozen fields and mountains of the Galar region are defended by fearsome defenders even if they don’t look the part. Frosmoth roams the frigid areas of the region and will defend their snow-covered territory with its powers of ice. However, were a trainer to earn the trust of this dual ice/bug type Pokemon, then they would find not just a powerful ally but a soft and fluffy friend.

Appearance
Frosmoth is a white moth Pokemon with a fluffy, round body and large wings covered in a snowflake-like pattern. Its eyes are a striking blue and white, and it has rather long eyelashes sprouting from them. The antennae of Frosmoth also have a similar pattern on them to their wings.
Behavior
The wings of Frosmoth are -290 degrees fahrenheit, and are said to be so cold that the scales that fall from its wings appear like snow. It lives in snowy mountains and fields and is very defensive of the areas, and creates blizzards with its wings in order to ward off intruders.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Frosmoth’s dual ice/bug typing is somewhat weak but has its benefits. It is resistant to ground, grass, and ice type moves and takes half damage from them. However it is weak to flying and steel type moves as well as being especially weak to rock and fire type moves, taking double damage from the first two and quadruple damage from the latter two.
Shiny Frosmoth
Shiny Frosmoth is the rare, recolored version of Frosmoth. Shiny Frosmoth is very slightly different to its original form as instead of having blue tones in its wings and eyes, they now have a dull green colour palette.
Best Movesets for Frosmoth
Offensive Setup: Frosmoth’s biggest strength is definitely its Special Attack stat. However it does need help in other areas, especially speed and defenses. Using Quiver Dance as a set up move fixes a lot of its problems and it also further boosts its Special Attack in order to deal out major damage.
Quiver Dance | Bug Buzz |
Ice Beam | Giga Drain/Hurricane |
How to Catch Frosmoth in Pokemon Go
Frosmoth and its pre-evolution are not yet in Pokemon Go however, it is easy to guess how it will likely be added. It will likely be obtained by evolving its pre-evolution, Snom, with 50 to 100 Snom Candy. Snom will likely be found amongst other ice and bug types in parks, farmland, nature reserves and open grassy areas as well as possibly spawning from Icy Lures.

Conclusion
Frosmoth, like most bug types, might be overlooked by many but it really shouldn’t be. It may look like it has little potential at first but its moveset and abilities can really make up for where its stats are lacking. Even its weak typing can be worked around and it has been notoriously used to surprise unsuspecting opponents with its power.
