Golurk is one of the many superbly designed Pokemon from Generation 5. This dual ground/ghost is derived from the Jewish legend of the Golem, a clay or mud figure brought to life by a false spirit. Golurk is exactly this, a metal body given life by the ghostly presence inhabiting it.

Appearance
Golurk is an automaton resembling a metal suit of armor. The metal that makes up its body is mostly shades of teal, with yellow swirling markings on its shoulders and the back of its hands. Golurk has a crack on its chest which also glows in the same yellow and the crack seems to have been badly patched over.
Behavior
Golurk was made by an ancient people in order to be a labor robot. While it is big, Golurk is strong and fast as well and is capable of retracting its limbs to turn into a rocket. When the patch on its chest crack is removed, the energy in the Pokemon runs rampant and causes it to become incredibly hostile. The energy will also turn red when this occurs.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Golurk’s ground/ghost typing is one which is very good at denying damage. It is completely immune to normal, fighting, and electric type moves and also takes half damage from rock and bug type moves and only quarter damage from poison type moves. However, it is weak to ghost, water, grass, ice, and dark type moves and takes double damage from them.
Shiny Golurk
Shiny Golurk is the rare, re-colored version of Golurk. Shiny Golurk is darker in color as compared to a normal Golurk and has a body which is a light brown with patches on it that are a very dark grey. The golden patch job as well as bands on Shiny Golurk also changes to a more duller shade of gold as well.
Best Moveset for Golurk
Field Damage: Golurk is an incredible offensive Pokemon to have and thus attacking moves like Earthquake and Shadow Punch can really dish out damage. However, it can push itself over the edge in damage with Stealth Rock to soften up enemies after they’re sent out, making it a real force to be reckoned with.
