Appearance
Hawlucha is a Pokemon with colorful plumage with a head that curves into a beak-shape in the front, and a mouth located in a white patch underneath the beak's curve. It has bluish green markings that resemble a mask across its face, an orange blaze marking running from the bottom of its forehead to the back of its neck, an orange ring encircling each eye and a small, pointed, red patch at the tip of its beak. Hawlucha has a black space around its eyes, which are yellow with pale yellow sclera and the back of its head are two rectangular, tassel-like feathers with red, cape-like wings. These wings have bluish green undersides and are connected to its tail feathers with hands that have three-claws at the tip of each of its wings. Hawlucha’s front is white with a red line along its neck and along the top of its chest, with small, yellow feet that have three toes each.
Behavior
Hawlucha is proficient in fighting, which allows it to keep up with bigger fighters like Machamp and Hariyam despite its small stature. It uses its speed to leap and stays in its opponent's blind spots while controlling its position in the air by using its wings. Hawlucha often chooses to strike from above because it is difficult to defend against and despite its strengths, opponents can exploit its vanity to gain the upper hand, since it has a tendency to show off.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Hawlucha has abnormal typing and high speed plus overall well rounded stats which makes it an effective Sweeper. As a flying and fighting-type, it is weak to flying, electric, psychic, ice, and fairy-type, immune to ground-types and resistant to fighting, bug, grass, and dark-types.
Shiny Hawlucha
Shiny Hawlucha is a version of Hawlucha in which the green is replaced by purple, orange is replaced by lime green, white is replaced by red, and red is replaced by black. Shiny Hawlucha can be caught by either luck or breeding Hawluchas until hatching a Shiny Hawlucha. Not only that, like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Hawluchas gains a starry animation upon entering battle.
Best moveset
Acrobatics and High Jump Kick are Hawlucha's powerful STAB (same-type attack bonus) moves of choice because of their high base power. Swords Dance can be used to boost its attack and finally, Roost can be used to help Hawlucha last longer in battle.
