Appearance of Heracross

Heracross is effectively just a big beetle. It is covered in a hard, blue exoskeleton and has a set of wings hiding under its carapace. Its hands are just two hooked claws and its feet are similar, each one ending in a hooked claw. Its most prominent feature is the horn extending from its forehead, extending out to a cross on males and a heart on females.

Behavior of Heracross

Heracross is incredibly strong. With its horn, it can lift and throw objects that are up to 100 times its weight. Heracross feed on sap from plants and even sometimes sap from grass-type Pokemon. It also competes with a lot of other large bug-type Pokemon it shares habitats with.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Heracross’s dual bug/fighting typing makes it a bit of a glass cannon though it does have enough resistances to make up for it. It's strong against fighting, bug, ground, grass, and dark type moves and takes half damage from them. But it is weak to fire, psychic, and fairy type moves and takes double damage from them as well as being extra weak to flying type moves from which it takes quadruple damage.

Shiny Heracross

Shiny Heracross is the rare, recolored version of Heracross. While the changes in Shiny Heracross may be striking, its changes aren’t that numerous. The only difference between normal and Shiny Heracross is their carapace color. Shiny Heracross has a bright pink color rather than a dark blue.

Mega Heracross

While normal Heracross is based on a Japanese rhinoceros beetle, Mega Heracross is clearly based on the monumentally strong Hercules beetle. Mega Heracross is the form that occurs in games that feature Mega Evolution when a Heracross holds a Heracronite. Mega Heracross is much bulkier than normal Heracross and has newly added red and yellow accents on its carapace. Mega Heracross also has a much differently shaped horn, being the same shape as the horns on a Hercules beetle.

Fast Revenge Attacker: Heracross doesn’t always need to be boosted though, sometimes it just needs to boost its speed with a Choice Scarf and use some powerful moves to punish threatening Pokemon which faints a previous team member.
