Pokemon GO has brought Tapu Fini to 5-star raids for much of the month of May, but trainers will get extra opportunities to battle and capture it thanks to an upcoming raid hour. On May 10, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm local time, the Alolan guardian will appear much more often in raids all around the game world. If players want to battle and capture it, this is a spectacular chance to do so.
However, Pokemon GO trainers likely won't be able to dive into this raid hour without some preparation. Tapu Fini won't be an easy raid boss to topple. Players will need to prepare their raid teams and stock up on items to ensure their success.
Since Tapu Fini's raid hour in Pokemon GO is quickly approaching, it may not be a bad time to take a look at how to prepare.

What to do before Tapu Fini's Raid Hour in Pokemon GO
If Pokemon GO trainers haven't done so already, there's no time to waste to prepare for Tapu Fini's raid hour. Each player can do so according to their own preferences and playstyle, but there are a few things to take into account that should be important for just about any trainer. This includes formulating a capable battle team of counters, stocking up on important items, and getting in touch with friends or other players to bring into the raid.
When it comes to countering Tapu Fini in Pokemon GO, trainers will want to focus on using Electric, Grass, and Poison-type moves/Pocket Monsters to deal super effective damage to the Alolan guardian.
If players match the type of move they're using with a Pokemon of the same type, they'll also trigger the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB), which will increase the overall damage output even more. It's ideal to activate STAB with a Pocket Monster that counters Tapu Fini directly to ensure that optimal damage per second is being dealt in raids.
As important as assembling a raiding team of Pokemon is, it's also vital to have the right items to keep them in good shape. This includes stocking up on healing items like Potions and Revives to ensure that any Pocket Monsters who take damage or faint can get brought back into the fight with full health, ready for another tilt with Tapu Fini.
It's also important to collect as many raid passes as possible. These items will allow trainers to continue running sequential raids during the event.
Lastly, it's prudent to reach out to fellow players ahead of time. This is particularly important given the recent remote raiding nerfs in Pokemon GO. If trainers can reach out online to other players in their area and organize a raiding session during the raid hour, it's a good idea to do so.
Niantic's Campfire app may also be helpful in this regard. Some trainers may be able to beat Tapu Fini solo. However, for those that can't, it's highly advised to reach out to other players and organize a raiding group ahead of the event to ensure that the raids can be completed.
