How to evolve Tandemaus into Maushold in Pokemon GO?

Pokemon GO's upcoming Ultra Unlock: Better Together event will signal the arrival of the Paldean Pokemon Tandemaus as well as its evolution Maushold. Tandemaus can be obtained through Party Play, but the same thing can't be said for its evolution. So how can players evolve Tandemaus into Maushold? The answer is the same way for the majority of creatures in Niantic's mobile title.

To evolve Tandemaus into Maushold in Pokemon GO, you'll need 50 Tandemaus candies collected from various sources. From there, you can open your Tandemaus' data page in the Pokemon menu and tap the evolve button to acquire a Maushold.

50 candies is a pretty standard evolution price for most creatures in Pokemon GO, but it is made slightly more difficult since Tandemaus can currently only be obtained in a few ways. The most notable option is finding Tandemaus in the wild during Party Play and catching it, ideally using Pinap Berries as needed to double catch candy yields. However, this isn't the only option.

On July 17-22, 2024, Pokemon GO's Ultra Unlock: Better Together event will be underway. During this time, Tandemaus can be found as a reward for Field and Timed Research Tasks in addition to being spotted via Party Play. There are additional methods for acquiring Tandemaus candy as well once you have a Tandemaus as well.

For example, you can set Tandemaus as your buddy Pokemon and accrue walking distance with it, wherein it will find additional candies to add to your collection. There are also Rare Candies, which can be obtained as a reward from research, raids, and PvP battles. This can then be converted into Tandemaus candy. However, Rare Candies can take quite a while to collect in some situations.

The Better Together event signifies one of the better opportunities to obtain Maushold as it will be making its debut along Tandemaus during the event. During the event, candy gains from catching Pokemon will be doubled. This effect can be further increased by using Pinap Berries to allow for massive candy gains from catching just a single Tandemaus.

If all else fails, trainers can also look to their fellow players and trade for a Maushold. In the event that players can't take advantage of Party Play or the Better Together festivities as they'd like to, then trading for a Tandemaus and evolving it or trading for a Maushold directly isn't a bad option to consider. This is especially true since neither Pokemon will cost much to trade for.
