Evolving Archen using Pokemon Candies is the most straightforward way to get Archeops in Pokemon GO. The latter is a Flying and Rock-type monster from the Unova region and is recognized as a Fossil species in the game. Its shiny counterpart, Shiny Archeops, is a different color-scheme variant with a similar stat spread and battle power.
The regular form of Archeops debuted as a part of the Trade Evolution on January 10, 2020, while its Shiny form entered the game in the Adventure Week 2022 event on June 7, 2022. Niantic has announced that Shadow Archeops in Pokemon GO will be available at the start of Adventure Week: Taken Over on August 8, 2024.

The two methods to get Archeops in Pokemon GO are as follows:
- Evolve an Archen
- Trade
1) Evolve an Archen
Archen, a Rock and Flying-type Pocket Monster, can evolve into an Archeops by consuming 50 Pokemon Candy. Shiny Archen can similarly evolve into Shiny Archeops using Candies.
These are the ways in which you can accumulate Archen Candies in the game:
- Set Archen as a Buddy Pokemon to find its consumables in the wild.
- Trade the critter with your fellows.
- Catch wild Archen in Pokemon GO.
- Transfer unwanted ones to Professor.
- Participate in events like Adventure Week 2024.
2) Trade
Trading is for those who can't get their hands on Archeops through evolution. You can ask your in-game friends to trade their Pocket Monster with you.
Please note that you can only trade if both friends are within a 100-meter distance.
