How to get Bastiodon in Pokemon GO, and can it be shiny?

You can obtain Bastiodon in Pokemon GO by taking part in the upcoming Adventure Week 2024. The event will offer players opportunities to obtain Shieldon, which evolves into Bastiodon when you feed Candies to it. Shiny Bastiodon is also available but is a rare find in the game.

The regular form of Bastiodon debuted on January 31, 2019. Its shiny variant was released as a part of the Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time event on July 23, 2021.

Each method to obtain Bastiodon in Pokemon GO

Trainers have four ways to add Bastiodon to their Pokemon GO collection:

• Catch the creature in the wild
• Win Raids
• Evolve a Shieldon
• Trade

1) Catch the creature in the wild

Bastiodon can occasionally appear in the wild. It can be found in locations experiencing Partly Cloudy and Snow weather.

However, it should be noted that the Rock- and Steel-type Pocket Monster doesn’t normally spawn in the wild. The best way to increase your chances of encountering it would be to use Lure Modules and Incense. These items have the power to attract wild critters, so when you play the game in Partly Cloudy and Snow weather, they can help you find the creature you're looking for.

2) Win Raids

Players can defeat Bastiodon in Pokemon GO raids to earn an encounter with it. The critter is 256% weak to Fighting-type attacks and 160% weak to Ground- and Water-type moves. You can exploit these vulnerabilities to take the raid boss down.

When Bastiodon is defeated, it will appear in nearby areas of Gyms that host the raid.

• Mega Lucario: Force Palm and Aura Sphere
• Shadow Excadrill: Mud-Slap and Scorching Sands
• Terrakion: Double Kick and Sacred Sword
• Keldeo: Low Kick and Sacred Sword
• Shadow Machamp: Counter and Dynamic Punch
• Conkeldurr: Counter and Dynamic Punch

3) Evolve a Shieldon

A Shieldon can evolve into a Bastiodon when it is fed 50 Pokemon Candy. Shiny Bastiodon also evolves in a similar way.

4) Trade

Your friend can trade a Bastiodon with you by using the trade mechanic in-game. To complete the trade, both of you must meet in person.
