How to get Fidough in Pokemon GO, and can it be shiny?

Fidough in Pokemon GO became available after trainers around the world were able to complete the second part of the Global Challenge during the Fidough Fetch event. This happened on January 4, 2025. The event will last until 10 pm local time on January 7, 2025, and, until then, players can capture this critter in a couple of ways. That said, Shiny Fidough is not available in Pokemon GO.

How to get Fidough in Pokemon GO

As of January 2025, you can get Fidough in the following ways:

• Wild encounters
• Field Research encounters
• Trade

Wild encounters

Fidough is available in the wild for trainers to capture. Simply walk around the map and it will show up; especially while the Fidough Fetch event — where it has boosted spawn rates — is on.

In the wild, Fidough can be found at a maximum of 1,114 CP. Encounters with it will be more common in Cloudy weather.

Field Research encounters

During the Fetch Fidough event, the "Complete a Route" Field Research task will give you a Fidough encounter. This spawn will have a minimum IV floor of 10/10/10 and will always be at level 15. Its combat power will range from 389 - 422.

Trade

Those unable to get Fidough in Pokemon GO on their own can ask friends to trade them one. Note that this will count as a Special Trade, and depending on your Friendship Level, might cost you a lot.

Can you get Shiny Fidough in Pokemon GO?

As of January 2025, Shiny Fidough is not available in Pokemon GO. The date of its shiny release remains undisclosed at the moment. The creature's design is based on the raw dough for a loaf of bread. Its shiny looks like a slightly more baked version, thanks to the slightly browner color.
