How to get free Ultra Beasts in Pokemon GO? [July 2024 event]

Players can get free Ultra Beasts in Pokemon GO owing to the Inbound from Ultra Space Timed Research that is currently ongoing. Apart from Stakataka making its debut with this event, players also stand a chance at catching these mysterious Ultra Beasts for free. The key to this event is Raids, and completing a specific number of Raids will reward you with all the Ultra Beasts, which can also appear in their Shiny variant if you are lucky enough.

In this article, we will explain how you will be able to get free Ultra Beasts in Pokemon GO during the July 2024 timed research event.

You can get all the Ultra Beasts in Pokemon GO for free during the Inbound from Ultra Space Timed Research in July 2024. Taking part and winning in a specific number of Raids guarantees you an encounter with the Ultra Beasts. However, ensure to complete it soon as the event expires on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 8 pm local time.

To be eligible for these Ultra Beast encounters, you will have to win Raids. Luckily, Remote Raid wins also count towards this number. You can catch nine Ultra Beasts during this event.

Here is a list of the number of wins and their guaranteed Ultra Beast encounter:

Unlike Raids where you need to use Premier Balls to catch these beasts, you need to use Poke Balls and its variants from your items to catch these. If you have Beast Balls, prioritize them as they have a much higher capture rate for Ultra Beasts in Pokemon GO.

Other than that, use Golden Razz Berries along with Curve Ball throws to maximize your chances of catching these elusive beasts.

Can the free Ultra Beasts from Timed Research be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Yes, the Ultra Beast encounters from the Timed Research can be Shiny, if you are lucky enough. These critters have a 1-in-20 or 0.5% chance to appear in their Shiny form during the Inbound from Ultra Space Timed Research encounters.

Unlike those obtained from five-star Raids, these Ultra Beasts obtained via special research will not feature special backgrounds. They remain exclusive to Raids in Pokemon GO.
