With the litany of methods available to get Lileep in Pokemon GO, and its Shiny variant up for grabs since Adventure Week 2019 on June 4, 2019, players have set their eyes on these Pocket Monsters for a while. The regular variant was introduced with the launch of Desert-themed Pokemon from the Hoenn region on January 23, 2018. These species are called Sea Lily Pokemon and are popular within the community for their Fossil status.

The Adventure Week: Taken Over 2024 debuted Shiny Shadow Lileep, so there is a new creature for trainers to add to their collection.

Here's what you need to know about the methods to get Lileep and Shiny Lileep in Pokemon GO.

To get Lileep in Pokemon GO, you can catch the monster in the wild, hatch Pokemon eggs, and beat Lileep raids.

  1. Catch wild Lileep.
  2. Hatch 2 km, 5 km, and 7 km eggs.
  3. Win Raid Battles.
  4. Complete Research Tasks.
  5. Rescue Shadow Lileep from Team GO Rocket members for purification.
  6. Trade.

Catch wild Lileep

Lileep is a dual Rock and Grass-type Pokemon, which means it spawns naturally in areas that experience Partly Cloudy and Sunny weather.

If you find yourself in these conditions, activating items like Lure Module and Incense will provide an additional boost to the spawn rate of wild Lileep in Pokemon GO.

Hatch 2 km, 5 km, and 7 km eggs

Lileep has returned to the game via egg encounters multiple times over the years through events. If the critter returns again, it will likely be featured in 2 km, 5 km, or 7 km eggs.

Win Raid Battles

As a Grass and Rock-type Pokemon, Lileep is weak to Bug, Fighting, Ice, and Steel-type moves. You will need these attacks to eliminate the Raid Boss.

Pokemon that can use these moves well are:

  • Lucario with Force Palm and Aura Sphere
  • Necrozma Dusk Mane with Psycho Cut and Sunsteel Strike
  • Heracross with Counter and Close Combat
  • Pheromosa with Bug Bite and Bug Buzz
  • Mega Blaziken with Counter and Overheat
  • Terrakion with Double Kick and Sacred Sword

Complete Research tasks

One way to get this critter in Pokemon GO is to complete Field Research tasks, which offers Lileep encounters.

However, it is quite challenging to find the monster using this method due to its limited availability.

Shiny Shadow Lileep debuted during the Adventure Week: Taken Over event in 2024. So, if you get this variant or the regular one, you can turn them into non-shadow Pokemon through the purification process.

Trade

If your friend wants to share a Lileep with you through the trade feature, you can accept the prize and get it for your Pokemon GO account.

How to get Shiny Lileep in Pokemon GO

The methods to obtain Lileep and its shiny form are the same in GO. Follow these steps:

  • Catch the critter in the wild.
  • Hatch eggs.
  • Win Raids.
  • Complete Research Tasks.
  • Rescue Shiny Shadow Lileep.
