The most powerful form of Aerodacyl is Mega Aerodactyl in Pokemon GO. Like its base form, it is a Rock and Flying-type Pocket Monster. This unique evolution lasts for eight hours, and can be Mega Evolved again depending on its level. Mega Aerodactyl was released in January 2022, and since its demand is high, Niantic has announced the Mega Aerodactyl raids are returning in August 2024.
Pokemon GO’s Mega Aerodactyl raids will start on August 3, 2024, at 10 am local time and conclude on August 12, 2024, at 10 am local time. Here are the methods to get Mega Aerdactyl.
How to obtain Mega Aerodactyl in Pokemon GO
Check out the current Pokemon GO raid bosses that you can encounter in-game
When Mega Energy is used on Aerodactyl, it transforms into Mega Aerodactyl. The following are the ways to obtain the creature and its resources:
- Win Raid Battles
- Complete research task
1) Win Raid Battles
Although Mega Aerodactyl can be fought as a raid boss, trainers can not encounter or catch it. One can only encounter and catch the base form. However, the item needed to Mega evolve the critter is available in Mega raids. Hence, as long as you beat Mega Aerodactyl raids, you can farm Mega Energy.
Players who have yet to evolve their Aerodactyl into Mega Aerodactyl in Pokemon GO must collect 200 Mega Energy. This requirement goes down as the creature's Mega Level keeps increasing.
