Getting Pikachu in a saree in Pokemon GO has been the community's top priority for the past few days. This unique avatar of the popular pocket monster is an Indian-exclusive critter available in-game as part of the Festival of Lights 2024 event.

The region-exclusive festive event began on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10 am local time and will continue till Monday, November 4, 2024, at 8 pm local time. Now, the real question is: How will you add Pikachu in a saree to your Pokemon GO team if you are not in the Indian subcontinent during this time?

Two ways to get Pikachu in saree in Pokemon GO for non-Indians

There are two methods to get Pikachu wearing a saree in Pokemon GO if you are a non-Indian — trading and Remote Raiding. For the former, you require an in-game friend who already has the Pokemon in question. You will have to be within 100 meters of them to complete the trade. Keep in mind that trading a Pikachu wearing a saree may be considered a Special Trade in Pokemon GO.

For Remote Raid participation, you will need someone in India to send you an invite when they are participating in an active raid with Pikachu in a saree. Moreover, you will need to be an in-game friend with the said host. However, you might not know someone like that.

In such a case, you can use third-party apps where hosts share listings for raids they are participating in. Once trainers join these, they are either asked to share their Pokemon GO Friendship Code or provided with the host's Friendship Code to send a request to. After doing so, they will have to simply wait for the host to send a Remote Raid invite.

The Pokemon GO community reported two such third-party apps (PokeRaid and Raid Plaza) as viable options to get Pikachu in a saree. At the time of writing, it is past 8 pm in India, meaning players will have to wait for tomorrow to try the same.
