How to get Regidrago in Pokemon GO, and can it be shiny

Regidrago in Pokemon GO can be obtained in two different ways; the first is to beat 5-star raids, and the other is to encounter it as a reward from the GO Battle League. While both methods are quite viable, the straightforward and easier one is to beat Regidrago in a Raid Battle. You need to be in a group of two to four trainers to take this Titan down.

Niantic debuted Regidrago on March 11, 2023. However, its shiny variant was unavailable for a long time. Now, the Max Out: Finale event is set to introduce Shiny Regidrago in Pokemon GO via 5-star raids.

Different ways to get Regidrago in Pokemon GO

There are only two methods to get your hands on the Dragon Orb Pokemon:

• Beat 5-star raids
• Obtain encounter reward from GO Battle League

1) Beat 5-star raids

Regidrago is a Legendary Pokemon with a Dragon typing. Therefore, it is weak to Dragon-, Fairy-, and Ice-type moves. On the other hand, it is resistant to Electric-, Fire-, Grass-, and Water-type moves.

You can make use of the information mentioned above to inflict increased damage on Regidrago in Pokemon GO raids. Plus, if counters of the same typing are utilized for this challenge, the damage output of the moves will be multiplied by 1.2.

Best counters against Pokemon GO Regidrago:

• Mega Rayquaza: Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe
• Origin Forme Dialga: Dragon Breath and Roar of Time
• Primal Groudon: Dragon Tail and Precipice Blades
• Origin Forme Palkia: Dragon Tail and Spacial Rend
• Mamoswine: Powder Snow and Avalanche
• Dragapult: Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe
• Garchomp: Dragon Tail and Outrage

Dragon-type pocket monsters are better counters against Regidrago than Fairy- and Ice-type ones since the DPS and TDS of their moves are significantly higher. Notably, Mega Rayquaza can increase the performance of all Dragon-type critters included in the lineup for this battle.

2) Obtain encounter reward from GO Battle League

GO Battle League offers Pokemon encounter rewards to players. If you join battles in this league and win five consecutive matches during the Max Out: Finale event, you may be able to earn an encounter with Regidrago in Pokemon GO. If you don't, keep winning till you find one.

However, your in-game level must be higher than 20 to receive this reward. If your level is less than 20, increase it as fast as possible since you cannot get a Regidrago via GBL once the Max Out: Finale event comes to an end.

You can find a Shiny Regidrago using the same two methods that will help you get a normal Regidrago in Pokemon GO:

• Beat 5-star raids
• Obtain encounter from GO Battle League

Do note that the chances of encountering a Shiny Regidrago are very low. However, beating 5-star raids is the best to come across one since it puts the shiny odds at 1-in-20.
