The debut of Shiny Shadow Lileep in Pokemon GO happened with the start of the Adventure Week: Taken Over event on August 8, 2024. It is now available to catch and train, but you must rescue it from the notorious Team GO Rocket members. It’s worth noting that its shiny rate is 1/64, roughly speaking! The time has come to teach the bad guys a lesson and save Shadow Lileep and its counterpart variant from them.

Once again, you can defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts during the hours of the Adventure Week: Taken Over event to get Shadow Lileep in Pokemon GO. It can also be obtained by besting Cliff’s Shadow Pokemon unit. So, how do we beat it?

In order to beat Shadow Lileep, we would need to exploit the vulnerabilities it has, which are Bug-, Fighting-, Steel-, and Ice-type moves. These are capable of dealing 160% damage! When these attacks are used in the right weather conditions, they deal additional damage.

The Shadow Pokemon unit of Cliff is stronger than the Shadow Pokemon unit of Grunts. You will have to defeat every Shadow Pokemon from Cliff’s disposal to be able to encounter Shadow Lileep in Pokemon GO. This means you will have to pound all seven Pocket Monsters.

While Grunts are easy to take down, not each of their units will include Shadow Lileep. You will have to face either a Grass-type Male Grunt or a Rock-type Male Grunt to get an encounter with the creature.
