The next Shadow Raid Boss has come to Pokemon GO, with Shadow Registeel returning to Niantic's mobile title. Being a Shadow Raid Boss, fighting Registeel has its fair share of limitations when compared to the average raid in the game. As such, some players may want some guidance as to the best way to find them.

Some users will be happy to learn that Shiny Shadow Registeel will also be available during the current Shadow Raid duration in Pokemon GO. Here is everything trainers should know if they intend on seeking out these Shadow Registeel raids in Pokemon GO.

Shadow Raids have a very unfortunate limitation in Pokemon GO, that is they cannot be challenged remotely. Joining these fights is, therefore, difficult for players in rural communities, as they cannot join battles remotely if there are none around them.

Once they are at the raid location, players can easily join one of these battles by using the free daily Raid Pass generated by these locations. However, these raids can get a bit complicated due to the enrage mechanic exclusive to these fights. Harking back to the Hyper or Reverse Mode from the original appearance of Shadow Pokemon on the Gamecube, Shadow Raid Bosses in GO can enter an enraged mode.

Players can use Purified Gems to temporarily remove this mode. Purified Gems are made from Shadow Shards, which are collected from battling members of Team GO Rocket. Four of these shards make a single Purified Gem and players can hold up to 10 at a time. Given Registeel's high defense, it will likely enter its enraged mode at least once during the fight.

While it can be difficult to organize with the winter season in the northern hemisphere and the game's overall dwindling player numbers, users should still try to party up with a group of friends to take on Shadow Registeel together. Being a Shadow Legendary, the Pocket Monster will be incredibly hard to take down for just one player.

What are the odds of finding Shiny Registeel in Pokemon GO?

While it is a Shadow Raid Boss, it will still have a Five-Star difficulty rating, putting its shiny odds at around 1 in 20. Given the resource investment involved with challenging multiple Shadow Raids in one day, grinding for Shiny Shadow Registeel can be costly and very time-consuming.

Shadow Registeel is considered worse than its standard variant in competitive play and Raid Battles due to the form lowering its defense stat, which is its most valuable asset. Players can still purify this Shadow Registeel to obtain its preferred variety, so it may still be worth farming for some.
