Tynamo has been a subject of interest for many Pokemon GO players following the news that this creature would be the next topic of the monthly Community Day. Set to start on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, the Tynamo Community Day will substantially increase the uncommon monster's spawn rate.
Understandably, some players may wonder if they can obtain Tynamo in its shiny form. While that has not been possible yet, Shiny Tynamo will be coming to the game during the Tynamo Community Day. Here is everything to know about finding a Shiny Tynamo in Pokemon GO.

Shiny Tynamo will be debuting in Pokemon during the Tynamo Community Day event. This monthly celebration will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. As is customary with Pokemon GO's Community Day events, it will feature a significantly higher chance of Shiny Tynamo spawning, with the odds being around one in 25.
This will be the best time for players to find Tynamo, as it is a relatively rare creature, otherwise. Also, hunting for its shiny variant outside this event will be significantly harder if players are not in optimal conditions.
Thankfully, there are ways for players to increase the likelihood of Tynamo spawning, and potentially find its shiny variant in the process.
Tips for finding Tynamo in Pokemon GO
Tynamo is a pure Electric-type Pokemon. Thanks to Pokemon GO's weather-boosting mechanic, players will have a better chance of finding Tynamo if they hunt in rainy weather. This will also ensure strong Tynamo spawns, meaning players are much more likely to get one with higher stats from hunting in rainy weather.
Additionally, players can also use Incenses to increase the general spawn rate of wild Pokemon in the area around their avatar on the map view. These items attach to the player upon use, granting their effect to the player for their listed duration, which may vary depending on events. These items can be found in Pokestops, or purchased from the in-app store.
Lure Modules are similar to Incenses, but attach to Pokestops and gym locations rather than the player. Once attached, wild Pokemon will begin spawning in higher numbers in the area. Unlike Incenses, Lures also affect other players, meaning everyone in the area can catch their fill of wild Pokemon including Tynamo.
Overall, the Tynamo Community Day set to take place on July 21st at 2:00 PM is the best time for players to hunt for a Shiny Tynamo in Pokemon GO. This event will feature its typical shiny rates boost, as well as a new signature move for Eelektross, Tynamo's final form. Upon reaching this last stage, Eelektross will learn Volt Switch, a spammable Electric-type charged attack that could greatly assist its viability in the metagame.
