Many regular and costumed Starter Pokemon are returning to the game with the start of the Pokemon GO 8th Anniversary Party event. Participants can get their hands on the Unova Starters, which include Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. These Pocket Monsters will be available to encounter and catch in the wild or through the Field Research Tasks completion. But, keep an eye out for the Shiny Party Hat Kanto Starters appearing in 1-star raids and in the wild.

The Pokemon franchise introduced Unova Starters with the launch of the Black and White mainline games. The Starter Pokemon from Unova, Snivy, can be obtained in two ways at Pokemon GO 8th Anniversary Party: Catch a wild Snivy or complete the Field Research task, where doing so rewards encounters with all three Unova Starters. However, there is a catch; you can only find this Grass-type in the wild from June 30 at 12:00 AM to July 1 at 11:59 PM local time. Meanwhile, research activities will be available throughout its run.

Wild Pokemon like Unova Starter Snivy’s spawn rate can be boosted by using in-game items, such as Lure Module and Incense. They work best when used in Sunny weather since Snivy experiences a spawn increase in this weather condition. If lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Snivy on the eighth anniversary.

Oshawott will appear in the wild during the run of the Pokemon GO 8th Anniversary Party. The in-game passive Weather Boost effect can buff the wild spawn rate of Oshawott. As such, you should find PokeStops or Gyms in a sunny environment where lure modules and incense can be turned on to maximize the effect. In the hunt for the Starter Pokemon from Unova, Oshawott, you may even find a Shiny Oshawott.

Make sure to complete the field research quests given by spinning PokeStops or Gyms in the Pokemon GO Anniversary Party event. This is to get all three Unova Starters at once.
