The Stag Beetle Pokemon, which is another name for Vikavolt, is sought after by many for its appearance and utility. But, there are limited ways to obtain it. Moreover, it has a shiny form in the game, which has been available since September 2023.

How can trainers get Vikavolt in Pokemon GO?

A Vikavolt cannot spawn in the wild in Pokemon GO. Therefore, you will need to catch a wild Grubbin and evolve it to become a Vikavolt. Unfortunately, there are only a few obtainable methods for the Stag Beetle Pokemon:

• Win 3-Star Raids
• Complete Research Tasks
• Trade

Evolve a Grubbin or Charjabug

You can feed Grubbin 25 Candies to evolve it into a Charjabug. The latter can then evolve into a Vikavolt if you give it 100 Candies. However, you must first activate a Magnetic Lure Module by attaching it to a PokeStop to trigger Charjabug's evolution process.

You can follow the same evolution procedure for your Shiny Grubbin or Shiny Charjabug.

Win 3-Star Raids

Another way to obtain Vikavolt in Pokemon GO is by defeating 3-star raids. Niantic brought back Vikavolt in these raids in June 2024, and you can defeat it solo or with a team.

To defeat Vikavolt in the game, you can utilize Rock and Fire-type attacks. Moreover, if you use Pokemon with similar typing, you can activate the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) effect. This helps improve the overall damage output of your counters. Lastly, avoid using Electric, Fighting, Grass, and Steel-type moves as the raid boss can easily withstand them.

If you are lucky, you can also find a Shiny Vikavolt when you conquer 3-star raids.
